Event #66: $1,500 Limit Hold'em
Dia 1 Concluído
The first of three Limit Hold’em events, Event #66: $1,500 Limit Hold’em drew 541 entries, generating a total prize pool of $730,350. After ten 60-minute levels of play on Day 1, only 184 competitors found a bag at the end of the night.
Leading the way is Shirley Rosario with 107,600. Rosario has over $227,000 in total earnings at the WSOP and will be looking to win her first bracelet. Closely trailing her is Z Stein with 106,100. Kevin Roster is still in contention as well with 50,100 in the bag. The former poker professional was diagnosed with Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, just over a month ago, and decided to live his last moments doing what he loves at the WSOP. Roster is making some incredible memories this summer and a deep run in this event would only add to it.
"I just hope to make it through the rest of the Series, and as much as I can after that, and then hold on until life really isn't pleasurable to live anymore." said Roster after his latest day of fun at the felt.
Other notables to bag include Benny Glaser (77,200), Nicholas Pupillo (73,300), Joe McKeehen (73,300), Rep Porter (54,500), Andre Akkari (44,100) Daniel Negreanu (34,200), Vanessa Kade (30,900), Ben Yu (27,200), Anthony Zinno (24,500), Matt Glantz (21,400), Ian O'Hara (18,500), and Chris Ferguson (17,500).
However, not all players were lucky enough to make it to another day. Many recognizable players busted before the end of the night including bracelet winners Shaun Deeb, Barry Greenstein, Daniel Zack, Anson Tsang and Yaser Al-Keliddar, as well as Cary Katz and Jon Turner,
Day 2 will restart at 2 p.m. tomorrow and will last ten more levels of play. A total of 82 players will be in the money with a min-cash being worth $2,239. The winner will take home $161,139 in addition to the shiny gold bracelet and as players get that much closer, PokerNews will be there to cover all the action. Be sure to follow the event through to its conclusion.
