Rudolph Slicks Kernan Out the Door

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Kevin Kernan opened on the button for 7,000 and Kevin Rudolph three-bet jammed for 40,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded and Rudolph called.

Kevin Kernan: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Greg Rudolph: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Kernan was ahead and loved the {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop which gave him the nut-flush draw taking away one of Rudolph's outs.

Rudolph, however, was able to hit his two-outer at best with the {10-Hearts} turn and Kernan needed to hit the river to stay alive.

The river would fall a {3-Diamonds} brick sending Kernan to the rail as Rudolph raked in the pot.

Kovalchuk Cracks Set of Tens for a Triples Up

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

There was three-way all in action before the flop after a player from position open-jammed for 55,000. He was called by the player sitting directly to his left, along with Maxim Kovalchuk who was in for 35,000 on the button.

All-In Player: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Maxim Kovalchuk: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Kovalchuk was way behind both opponents and his hand got worse after the rainbow flop of {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

The {6-Clubs} on the turn gave Kovalchuk a brink hope drawing to a gutterball staright headed to the river,

Kovalchuk's prayer was answered when the dealer threw the {8-Spades} on the river and Kovalchuk tripled up at the right time.

Canawati's Fullhouse Sends Kaplan to the Rail

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Imad Canawati opened under the gun for 6,500 and action folded to Jamie Kaplan who three-bet jammed for 37,500 on the button, Canawati called.

Imad Canawati: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Jamie Kaplan: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Canawati was able to pair his ace on the {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop, which also gave Kaplan a broadway draw.

Canawati would trip up with the {a-Diamonds} turn and Kaplan needed the river to be a queen to stay alive.

The river would double-pair the board with the {6-Clubs} giving Canawati aces-full and Kaplan was eliminated.

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Isaac Kawa open-jammed for 17,100 on the button and was called by Nadav Assyag from the small blind.

Isaac Kawa: {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Nadav Assyag: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Kawa had two live cards and was able to pair his three, but Assyag also paired his king on the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop.

A miracle {3-Hearts} came on the turn for Kawa and he was in good shape as the {j-Clubs}fell on the river and he doubled up.

Flashback: 2016 Colossus Winner Ben Keeline

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
2016 Colossus Champion Ben Keeline
2016 Colossus Champion Ben Keeline

The second instalment of the Colossus was held in 2016 and attracted 21,613 entries, the second most in live tournament poker history behind the inaugural running of the tournament.

This huge field generated a prize pool of $10,806,500 and at the end of it all, Ben Keeline was the man to take down the title, the bracelet and $1,000,000.

"I’m elated. I can’t even think about what this means, not just the money, but the gold bracelet," said Keeline. "This is something I could not have imagined would happen just a few days ago. Sure, I thought it could happen and I thought I could win if I played well, but to have it go the way it went, well – that’s more than I express how I feel right now."

Since 2016, Keeline has continued to grind away on the WSOP Circuit. Earlier this summer he finished fourth in Event #48: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em for $133,306, his biggest cash since taking down the Colossus three years ago.
