Brown Leads Out on Turn

Nível 11 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Adam Friedman raised to 10,000 in the first position, Shaun Deeb flatted on his left and Andrew Brown and John Esposito came along from the blinds.

The four players saw the {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} hit the felt and Friedman continued for 27,000. Only Brown called.

They went to the {4-Hearts} turn and Brown led out 33,000. Friedman didn't spend much time and released his hand, leaving the pot to Brown.

Gonzales Sent Home By Wang

Nível 11 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Matthew Gonzales raised to 11,000 from under the gun and action folded to Yong Wang in the small blind who three-bet potted to 37,000. Gonzales called and the flop came {2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Wang asked Gonzales to move his arms so that he could see his stack before he put out a bet of 75,000. Gonzales shoved for less than double the bet and Wang called.

Yong Wang: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Matthew Gonzales: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Wang won the pot with three nines, eliminating Gonzales from the tournament.

Seiver and Smith Chop in Deuce

Nível 11 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

With action picked up after the first draw, Scott Seiver checked from the big blind and called when Dan Smith fired from the button.

Seiver pitched one while Smith was good. Seiver let Smith bet and then check-raised. Smith called.

Both patted the final draw and Seiver put in one more bet. Smith immediately called and they found out that they'd made the same hand as Seiver announced eight-seven perfect and Smith also tabled {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Michael Mizrachi

Pot-Limit Omaha

As recapped to us by Phil Hui, Michael Mizrachi raised to 6,500 from the cutoff, Jason Mercier called from the button and Prahlad Friedman potted to 27,500 from the big blind. Both Mizrachi and Mercier called.

The flop was {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Friedman led for 50,000, Mizrachi called all in for 29,000 and Mercier called.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and both checked again.

Friedman tabled {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}, besting Mercier's holdings and Mizrachi's {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} to win the pot and eliminate the defending champion.

Galfond Finds a Fortunate Chop and a Double the Following Hand

Nível 10 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Phil Galfond on Day 1
Phil Galfond on Day 1

No-Limit Hold'em

In a battle of the blinds, Phil Galfond was all in for about 72,000 from the small blind with {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} against Timofey Kuznetsov in the big blind with {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, giving Kuznetsov a set while Galfond picked up an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the {9-Clubs}, giving Galfond a straight, although Kuznetsov had outs to a flush and full house. The river was the {k-Spades}, giving both players a king-high straight to chop the pot.

The following hand, Galfond raised to 6,000 from the button and was called by Kuznetsov in the small blind and Matthew Wood in the big blind.

The flop came down {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Kuznetsov checked to Wood who bet 12,500. Only Galfond called to see the {3-Hearts} turn where Wood bet effectively 56,000.

Galfond called all in with {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for an ace-high flush and had the hand locked up against Wood's {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Schwartz Scoops With a Deuce

Nível 10 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

John Hennigan raised on the button, Isaac Haxton three-bet on his left and Luke Schwartz four-bet in the big blind. Hennigan gave up and Haxton called.

Haxton check-called on the {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop and the remaining streets were checked through as the turn and river ran out {7-Hearts} and {6-Diamonds}.

Schwartz tabled {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for a pair of deuces and a seven-low and Haxton couldn't beat either, showing {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts} to make sure he didn't miss anything that would allow him to take a portion of the pot.
