Welcome to Day 2b of Event #3: Big 50 - $500 No-Limit Hold’em! Due to the huge turnout for the event, the restart was re-scheduled to a 7pm start time.
This year's Big 50 Special, rake free for the first buy in, and at least $5 Million dollar in guaranteed prizes with at least $1 million to first place, has brought out the masses. There was mass confusion at yesterday’s Day 2a when players arrived to see their poker table filled with player from Day 1b and only to be told that they needed to push back the start time to 7pm due to the large number of players.
A total of 6,048 entries showed up for Day 1b, but after they called play for the day, just 1,269 remained to move onto Day 2b. When players return, they will continue play in Level 14 which features a small blind of 3,000, big blind of 6,000, and a big blind ante of 6,000. Seven levels of play are scheduled today with a 20-minute break after every two levels.
Notable players to keep an eye on today Day 2b the chip leader Matthew Keegan 902,000, Alexander Kartveli 892,000, Glenn Swanlund 869,000 and Men Nguyen is also very much in Day 2b.
Mikhail Vilkov claimed the Day 2a chip lead 3,475,000 in chips, followed Joshua Thibodaux with 3,215,000 and followed by Amer Torbey with 3,025,000.
