Kelsall Avoids Split

Nível 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Andrew Kelsall had paired aces on fourth street and he was facing Joseph Haddad whose board showed two low cards when the action was caught on fifth street. Both players were in for a bet and Kelsall fired his Broadway-heavy board on sixth, seeing Haddad pairing a four. Kelsall got called and the river was checked as Haddad shook his head, having bricked his low draw.

Kelsall: {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} / {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Haddad: {7-}{6-}{x-} / {4-}{2-}{10-}{4-}

Ware Trending Up

Nível 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Ron Ware had been almost downed, playing only 1,100 in chips at one point, but he seems to have hit his stride in recent minutes. Ware was just seen getting a ton of value with overpair to the board in limit hold'em.

Ware raised from the second position and he found a caller in the big blind. The board of {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} saw Ware fire on every street and he earned calls all the way to the end where he showed the best hand with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

Smith Delivers KO

Nível 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

PLO

With 1,000 in the pot, three players made it to the {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop where Bradley Smith checked from the small blind. Jeff Madsen checked from under the gun and the third player fired 1,000. Smith responded with a check-raise to 3,400 and Madsen paused for a while before leaving the contest. Smith's raise had just covered the third players' stack and he called for the rest so the cards were turned up.

Smith: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Smith had his opponent crushed and the {3-Hearts} and {a-Clubs} runout left him ahead.

Yeh Eliminates One

Nível 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Small blind Andrew Yeh was facing off against two opponents on the flop of {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, which escalated in Yeh's four-bet. The big blind was all in and the third player continued to play for the side pot with Yeh.

Yeh fired bets on both {q-Spades} turn and {q-Hearts} river and he received a call on the turn and a fold on the river. Yeh opened {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a boat and scooped both side and main pots as the all-in player mucked his hand and left the table.

Third, First, Last, and...?

Ron Ware

Stud

"Third, first, last," that's how Ron Ware summarized his appearances in the last three years of the $1,500 Eight-Game at WSOP. He finished third in 2016 before beating Mike Ross heads-up for a bracelet in 2017. Last year was a completely different story for Ware who claimed to be the first eliminated player.

Ware's start to this year's edition hasn't gone too well so far as he'd already been seen down to 2,500. But Ware recently earned some chips in a weird hand that had both players finishing with just two hole cards.

The {a-Spades} was accidentally exposed for Ware's opponent on seventh street and it was ruled that Ware's card would have to be opened as well. Ware called one more bet despite facing paired aces, and he scooped the pot with three jacks.

Ware: {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} / {8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{x-} / {8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Albini Checks Back Trips

NLH

Steven Albini, sitting on the button, bet 275 on {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop and his opponent check-called from the big blind. The turn came {q-Hearts} and Albini barreled for 475 only to see his opponent blast a big raise, making it 3,000. Albini called and the {5-Diamonds} hit the river. The action was checked to Albini who thought for a while.

"It's so weird," Albini said and checked, showing {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for flopped trips. His opponent flashed {a-}{q-} and Albini claimed a decent pot.
