Seiken Fires Big

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Nicholas Seiken and Craig Varnell both won a bracelet this summer and they met in a pot. We caught the action on the flop where they paid 1,500 apiece on the {Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{9-Hearts} before they checked the {K-Clubs} turn. Seiken then fired 5,000 into 5,550 on the {8-Spades} river and Varnell gave up.

Butler Busts to Quads

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Action folded to Ashly Butler on the button, he raised to 300, and the small blind called.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and the small blind checked. Butler bet 500 and the small blind check-raised to 1,700. Butler came over the top and moved a total of 6,000 chips forward, the small blind shoved, and Butler called to put himself at risk.

Ashly Butler: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Small blind: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

Butler had flopped a fistful of outs in the form of the nut-flush draw and a gutshot but found himself trailing his opponent's flopped set. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn gave the small blind a lock on the pot with quads and Butler made his exit after the {6-Hearts} fell on the river.

Hughes Rivers the Nuts

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Ryan Hughes was in the big blind, three-betting to 800 over a 300-raise from the small blind. Hughes was called and he continued on the {7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop, firing 1,400. He got called again and the {3-Hearts} saw Hughes check back.

The small blind led out 1,000 on the {J-Clubs} river but Hughes raised to 5,000. The other player paused for about 30 seconds and then threw in calling chips.

Hughes rolled over {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for jacks full and took down the pot.

Nutty Board Gives Owen a Double

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

On the {10-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} board, Adam Owen doubled through his opponent. We arrived when the hand was over and Owen's cards were already face up. He hit the nuts with {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts} and the other player was just mucking both players' hands when we arrived.

Owen's stack was counted at 11,450 and the other player argued that he had him covered, which was the case. Then he realized that he still needed to match Owen's money and the play resumed shortly thereafter.

Fonseca Doesn't Chop

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Catching up the action on the {4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} turn, Alberto Fonseca led out 1,500, earning a call from his left-hand opponent.

The river was the {A-Hearts} and Fonseca bet 2,100. His opponent tanked for over a minute and then tossed in calling chips. Fonseca turned up {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} for tens and sixes.

"Chop it up," the other player said, disappointed to see Fonseca's hand. "I don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't even be in this hand," he said while showing {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

He pulled back the 2,100-bet but the dealer informed him that there was no chop as Fonseca had higher two pair. "Oh, I misread my hand," he said, studying his hand carefully.

The player in the hijack raised to 300, Kyle Cartwright three-bet to 1,000 from the cutoff, and the hijack called.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the hijack checked. Cartwright continued for 1,500, his opponent folded, and he took the pot.

Hughes Dusts First Bullet

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Ryan Hughes was in position on the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts} with about 1,300 in the pot. His opponent fired 1,000, Hughes raised to 3,000 and snap-called when the other player moved all in.

Hughes had a wrap with {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} but he was against a flopped straight with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Hughes failed to outdraw his opponent on the {8-Spades} and {7-Hearts} runout and the quick measurement confirmed that his stack was the shorter one.

With a single re-entry allowed in the tournament, it's almost guaranteed that Hughes will soon be back at it.
