Dia 2 Concluído
Just ten remain in the hunt for World Series of Poker glory after Day 2 of Event #67: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty saw the field narrowed from 125 to the unofficial final table. After ten levels of play the player with the best shot at the title is the end of day chipleader, Matt O'Donnell.
O'Donnell bagged a sizeable lead with 985,000 going into the bag overnight. O'Donnell shot up the counts after benefitting from a massive pot when he and three of his tablemates piled a pot-sized bet in the middle preflop during the latter part of the day. A flop fanned out and all of the chips went in the middle.
Florian Duta:
Michal Maryška:
Christopher Schneider:
Matt O'Donnell:
The on the turn gave O'Donnell a wheel and it held through the
on the river to scoop the 600k+ pot and pick up two bounties from Schneider and Duta and also double the remainder of his stack through Maryška. Maryška would persevere and bag a top-five stack reaching Day's end with 633,000.
Following O'Donnell is Anderson Ireland with 864,000, Hai Chu (703,000), Jameson Painter (634,000), Jonathan Thomas (598,000), and Andrew Holland (572,000).

With Day 1 ending as the money bubble popped, Day 2 began with 125 hopefuls already guaranteed to walk away with a prize. Eric Baldwin (118th), Perry Friedman (117th), Sebastian Pauli (101st), Aaron Mermelstein (98th), Benny Glaser (89th), Nipun Java (86th), and Robert Mizrachi (83rd) were just a few of the notables to bust before the first break.
The action didn't slow down with about another 40 players departing within the next two levels. The start-of-day chipleader, Robert Oxenberg (79th), was one such player along with Justin Young (68th), Ivan Deyra (65th), Mark Gregorich (55th), and Jeff Gross (54th).
David Williams lost a sizeable pot to Painter when he potted a flop that Painter had made top two-pair on. Williams had tons of straight outs but was drawing dead on the turn when Painter improved to a full house. Williams was unable to spin his remaining four big blind stack up and busted in 39th place with a handful of bounty chips in his pocket.
The final ten players will return for action on Day 3 on Sunday, July 8, with blinds at 6,000/12,000. The cards will hit the felt at 2pm with play continuing until the last player is standing.
Stay tuned to the PokerNews blog as the team will be on the floor providing live coverage until the last card comes off the deck and the WSOP's latest champion is crowned.
