Sootla in the Lead on Day 3 of Event #51: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Bounty, Leng Close Behind

Welcome to the final scheduled day of play for Event #51: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Bounty. There will be just 29 coming back for Day 3 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and all the runners that remain have the same thing on their mind — a WSOP bracelet and the $272,504 first-place prize.

Ranno Sootla will be the leader of the pack with his 1,500,000, but coming right up on his tail end is Ryen Leng (1,381,000), who was the only other person to bag over one million in chips when played concluded last night.

Halfway through the day, it was Leng who was leading the tournament and it was not until the last seven hands of the night that Sootla would overtake that lead in a hand where Michael Telker called all in with his pocket kings into Sootla's full house on the river.

Other players coming into the final day with a notable stack include 2013 Main Event runner-up Jay Farber (901,000), Jamie O'Connor (901,000), Russell Rosenblum (730,000), Mikhail Semin (677,000), Juan Vecino (663,000), and Ryne Capra (602,000).

Some other notables still left in play are bracelet winner Konstantin Puchkov (367,000), Justin Liberto (337,000), Marvin Rettenmaier (316,000), Scott Cole (243,000), and Arthur Morris (147,000).

The blinds will be starting off at 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante. The day will have all 60-minute levels, with a 15-minute break after evert two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level. The Day 3 action will be kicking off at 12 p.m. and the tournament will not stop until a winner is crowned.

After losing some chips earlier, Ryan Leng has pulled some back in the last hand.

Jay Farber kick started the action by opening to 35,000 and Jacob Phillips three-bet to 101,000. It folded round to Ryan Leng who upped it again, enough to put Phillips all-in. With Farber out of the way, Phillips made the call and he was the player who needed to hit with his tournament life on the line.

The hit for Leng and Phillips was in some trouble with two cards to come. The turn and river sealed it up for Leng and Phillips hit the rail in 21st.

The flop was good for Phan as the dealer fanned out and he was ahead with his aces. When the landed on the turn it was O'Connor who took the lead and the on the river changed nothing as it stayed that way.

O'Connor took down the pot and is now above his Day 3 starting stack for the first time today.

Ryne Capra Eliminated in 19th Place ($8,541)

Ryne Capra had been nursing a short stack for a while and had managed to steal the blinds a couple of times in the last orbit.

Just now he opened from middle position and Mark Mazza defended from the big blind.

They were heads up to the flop and it came . Mazza checked and Capra continued for 50,000. Mazza then reraised enough to put his opponent all in and Capra made the call.

The board ran out dry for O'Connor up until the river which landed a king. Semin's pair of kings on the river was good for the pot and eliminated O'Connor from the tournament.

Juan Vecino Eliminated in 17th Place ($10,614)

Ranno Sootla has been up near the top for much of this tournament and there are no signs that he plans to slow down any time soon. He just eliminated Juan Vecino in a hand that played out across all three streets and took another bounty to add to his already impressive collection.

Sootla opened the betting to 45,000 and only Vecino called, playing off the button. The flop came and Sootla continued for 75,000, which Vecino called.

The turn was the and Sootla barrelled, making it 195,000. Once again Vecino called. The river completed the board and Sootla set Vecino all in (he had 375,000 left). After tanking for a minute, Vecino made the call with against Sootla's and he had to make his way to the payout desk. Sootla, meanwhile, is pulling ahead from the rest of the field.
