A total of 205 entrants came together to smash last year's total in the $2,500 Big Bet Mix. A total of 31 places will be paid, with a min-cash worth $3,777.
A seat at the final table of six will be worth $16,329, with the winner taking home $122,138 and a WSOP gold bracelet.
James Alexander was the chip leader at a table featuring Anthony Zinno, Roland Israelashvili and John Hennigan, and he may have been the chip leader of the tournament.
However now, he's out. According to Zinno, a big pot involving Alexander's and the of Hennigan resulted in Hennigan stacking up the chips, and he now sits on close to 90,000.
The player on the cutoff opened to 1,800 and Chris Ferguson took his time on the button. After contemplating what to do he put in chips for a call and both the players in the blinds folded their hands.
Both players only drew one card and the action checked to Ferguson. Ferguson then put in a bet of 3,600 and his opponent called after thinking it through.
Ferguson tabled for two pair and that was good enough to win the hand.
With the start of level 9 registration is officially closed. Rainer Kempe is most likely the last and final entrant in the tournament and he is seated next to Max Pescatori.
The floor will confirm the total amount of entries and the pay outs should be up shortly.
