Booker Assumes the Chip Lead With a Turn Raise

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jodie Sanders raised from early position making it 22,000. Tom Booker called from middle position and Jordan Hufty called from the cutoff.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} and all three players checked to see the {J-Spades} on the turn. Sanders led out, betting 25,000. Booker thought briefly before deciding to raise, making it 65,000 to go. Hufty folded instantly while Sanders tanked for about a minute before letting go of his hand as well.

With that, Booker took down the pot and assumed the chip lead with over half a million chips.

Thomas Yenowine
Thomas Yenowine

Thomas Yenowine opened to 22,000 from the cutoff and Zachary Seymour flat-called on the button. The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Yenowine checked to Seymour who bet 30,000. Yenowine check-raised all in for 145,000 and Seymour tank-called.

Yenowine tabled {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for top pair while Seymour had a two-way straight draw with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the river the {3-Diamonds}. Yenowine held on to score a double-up through Seymour and the table remains ten-handed.

Terry Bania Eliminated in 11th Place ($3,120), Tom Ratanakul Eliminated in 12th Place ($3,120)

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Terry Bania
Terry Bania

Tom Ratanakul shoved all in for 55,000 from early position and Jordan Hufty called from the cutoff. Terry Bania was in the big blind and shipped all in as well for 111,000 and Hufty called to put both players at risk.

Jordan Hufty: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Terry Bania: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Tom Ratanakul: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Hufty took the lead with a pair of aces. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing, and Hufty eliminated both of his opponents. There will now be a quick break while the unofficial final table is prepared on the main stage.

Bania Avoids a Chop and Doubles

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Terry Bania moved all in for 56,000. Action folded to the button where Jordan Hufty called.

Terry Bania: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Jordan Hufty: {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} which put some chop outs on the board for Hufty and the {9-Spades} on the turn added to those outs. But the river was the {4-Clubs} and despite being a two-sider, it wasn't the five Bania feared to see. With that pot, Bania earns himself a double-up to over 100,000 after starting the day with right around three big blinds.

Anthony Dewald Eliminated in 13th Place ($2,484)

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Anthony Dewald
Anthony Dewald

Jodie Sanders opened to 25,000 from early position and Anthony Dewald moved all in for around 44,000 on the button. The action folded back to Sanders who quickly made the call and the cards were tabled.

Jodie Sanders: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Anthony Dewald: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Dewald was flipping for his tournament life and took the lead when the flop came {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}. However, the dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds} which gave Sanders a set of fours and Dewald was drawing dead to the {a-Clubs} on the river.

Only 13 Remain in Event #1: $565 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em with $61,909 For the Winner

Brad Helm
Brad Helm

The field has been cut down from 566 to just 13 in Event #1: $565 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em and players are just a few spots away from what will be the second final table of this series. Currently leading the way is Jodie Sanders, a table games dealer from Southern California.

On Wednesday night, Sanders bagged up over half a million chips, giving him over 100,000 more than his nearest competitor, Jordan Hufty, who bagged up 399,000. Sanders has cashed in this event before, having already improved upon his 28th-place finish from years ago by making it to the final 13.

Many of the remaining players in the field are locking up their very first World Series of Poker cash. The exception is perhaps the most accomplished of those remaining, Bradley Helm, who has 13 World Series of Poker cashes already under his belt worth more than $150,000. Helm, who is a Poker Host, is looking for his second WSOP final table as well. He'll look to improve on that fourth-place finish with a win here in this event for his first bracelet. Helm bagged up 140,000 on Day 1 which put him right around the middle of the pack.

The plan is to play down to a winner on Thursday and with 13 left, it's still anyone's game. Levels have been increased today from 30 minutes to 60 minutes, so it's likely that play will slow down at least a little bit. Players are gunning for the first-place prize of $61,909 and a World Series of Poker gold bracelet which is a big jump up from the $2,484 that they are guaranteed to start the day.
