Gold Bracelet_2014 WSOP

The last $1,500 no-limit hold'em event of the 2014 WSOP resumes today with 293 of the original field of 2,563 still in contention.

Chris Kolla holds the lead at the moment with 130,300 chips but the chasing pack is close behind. Yaron Zeev Malki lies second currently with 126,000 and Ty Reiman sits third with 125,400. There is a long way to go, however, with another ten one-hour levels of play scheduled today and a final day tomorrow.

The total prize pool for this event is $3,460,050 and the winner is set to receive $614,248. One of the early orders of business today will be the bursting of the money bubble. With 270 places being paid, that means 23 players will be out of the tournament empty-handed.

Some of the notables returning for Day 2 that we’ll be keeping an eye on include David Peters (83,300), Shannon Shorr (76,400), Scott Baumstein (64,300), Layne Flack (58,500), and Barny Boatman (42,000).

Plante Doubles Through Kaverman

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Byron Kaverman moved all in from an early position and action folded around to Jean Rene Plante who made the call to put himself at risk.

Plante: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Kaverman: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Plante was in great shape to score the double-up and would get it after the dealer laid down a board of {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Brooks Triples

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Jonathan Hart opened under the gun to 6,000, Matthew Brooks moved all in for less, and John Racener made the call in the big blind. The flop was dealt {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Spades} and both players checked to the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. Racener then check-folded to a bet of 6,000 from Hart and the remaining hands were tabled.

Hart: {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Brooks: {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Brooks had turned two pair and secured the triple-up after the river bricked off a blank.

Stout vs. Baumstein

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Matt Stout was involved with a little verbal sparring with Scott Baumstein early on, then after Stout’s early position raise to 2,700 Baumstein called him from the button.

The two saw a flop of {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Stout continuation bet for 3,300. Baumstein raised him and Stout quickly mucked his hand saying he wasn’t falling into his trap. Baumstein replied that he put Stout on {a-}{q-} and that was why he raised him.

Holla’s Chips Talk

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Chris Holla is letting his chips do the talking early on today.

The start-of-day chip leader was just now involved in a hand with Sven Reichardt in which the pair saw a flop of {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. When checked to Holla bet 4,300, and Reichardt called. A {2-Hearts} on the turn then saw Holla bet 6,200 and that persuaded Reichardt to give it up.

Orourke Flops a Flush; Gets Paid

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On a board of {3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and a massive pot in the middle, Gavin Orourke was first to act and moved all in. Mike Heshmati had a decision for his tournament life and after five minutes in the tank, a player not in the hand asked for a clock.

About halfway through the minute Heshmati was given, he made the call, and Orourke showed him the bad news. Orourke had flopped a flush with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Heshmati apparently mucked {q-}{q-} as he rushed away from the table, just two eliminations from the money.
