Chidwick and Grospellier Bust

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 2,000 from under the gun, Ben Volpe three-bet to 5,600 out of the small blind, and Anthony Spinella tanked for a bit in the big blind before folding. Chidwick called.

The dealer fanned {2-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Volpe led out for 6,000, and Chidwick raised to 14,000. Volpe moved all in for what looked like 30,000 or so, and Chidwick quickly called.

Chidwick: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Volpe: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} on the river were both bricks, and Chidwick hit the rail.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was eliminated from an adjacent table with unknown action.

Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

When we arrived at Table 382, Josh Arieh had a bet of 18,000 in front of him - roughly half of the pot - and the board was completed {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. His opponent, Igor Kurganov, was in the tank.

Kurganov sat silently in thought for a few minutes, mumbling to himself now and then, and finally called.

"I'm concerned," Arieh said. "Nine-high."

Kurganov revealed {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a pair of tens, and Arieh mucked.

"I'm very concerned," Arieh said once more. "Nice hand."

"I quit," Erik Seidel said after the hand with a big grin on his face. "I'm going home."

Here's counts from the entire table:

808 Love

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Markus Gonsalves was the first player to act, and he raised to 1,700. Dario Sammartino three-bet to 3,300 on his direct left, and the action folded back to Gonsalves, who called.

The dealer fanned {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, Gonsalves check-called a bet of 4,200, and the turn was the {q-Clubs}. Both players checked.

The river was a repeat ten - the {10-Spades} - and the duo checked again. Gonsalves turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for kings and tens with an ace kicker, and his Italian opponent mucked.

Greg Merson
Greg Merson

Greg Merson fired 4,300 into the pot on a board of {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, and Nick Schulman made the call to see the {K-Clubs} pair the board on the river. Merson bet 2,400, and Schulman called.

Merson showed the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a king-high straight flush, and Schulman mucked his hand.

"That's Why You Pay for All Five"

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

After series of preflop bets and raises, Martin Finger was all in and at risk for around 50,000 with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. His opponent, Ashton Griffin, had him slightly covered and turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

The {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop was clean for Finger, as was the {j-Hearts} on the turn, but the {k-Diamonds} spiked onto the felt on the river, sending the German packing.

Ashton chipped up to 110,000.

"That's why you pay for all five," Brandon Steven said after the hand. "It doesn't matter if it comes on the first card, second, or last."

"Or never," Ashton deadpanned.

There was a beat.

"Just kidding," he said, grinning. "I want to win."
