Dunst Done and Dusted

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We saw Tony Dunst standing at the payout desk, and he was kind enough to fill us in on some details surrounding his demise.

As Dunst put it, a loose player opened for 4,100 under the gun and he three-bet t 12,000 from the button. The under-the-gun player then moved all in and Dunst called off with 40,000 or so with {a-}{q-}. Unfortunately for him his opponent held {a-}{k-} and the board ran out clean.

Dunst then told us that he will be late registering for Event #31: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em, and of course you can follow our updates from that event. Just click here.

Musumeci Takes Her Leave

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Amanda Musumeci
Amanda Musumeci

We missed the preflop action, but it appeared Eric Blair had opened from middle position and the player in the small blind called. It appeared an extremely short-stacked Amanda Musumeci, who had 4,000 or so in the big blind, called off without looking at her cards.

The two active players proceeded to check it down as the board ran out {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The small blind tabled the {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, but Blair had that beat with the {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. All Musumeci had to do was beat king high, but that proved easier said than done as she flipped over the {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

"Damnit," she said before heading to the payout desk in 105th place.

Warrington Loses Two Pots In Quick Succession

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Ben Warrington raised to 4,500 from middle position and was called by the player in the hijack seat. Warrington tested the waters with a 5,500 bet on the {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and was called. Both players then checked down the {K-Hearts} turn and {4-Spades} river, Warrington's {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} losing out to the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

A couple of hands later, Warrington raised to 4,500 once again and was called by Jerry Yang on the button. The pair watched on as the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop came into play, Warrington greeting it with a 5,500 continuation bet. Yang called and it was off to the {8-Hearts} turn.

Warrington initially checked, but then folded when Yang set the price to play at 11,000.

He may have lost a little ground but Warrington still has almost quarter of a million chips and is in a very comfortable position right now. The same can be said of his table mate Roberto Romanello who has 214,000 chips.
