Rinat Shakirov four-bet pre-draw and was called by David Bell. Shakirov stood pat on all three draws, while Bell swapped two cards on each draw. Shakirov tabled {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} thinking he had the best hand but Bell had caught two gutters on the final draw and flipped over {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} for the win.

Matt Schultz Eliminated in 12th Place ($6,586)

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Matt Schultz - 12th Place
Matt Schultz - 12th Place

Picking up with the action during the first draw, David Bell pulled two cards, Vladimir Shchemelev took one, a short-stacked and already all in Matt Schultz took two, and Kevin Iacofano also took two.

Bell checked, Shchemelev fired out a bet and both Iacofano and Bell called. On the second draw, Bell and Shchemelev pulled one, Schultz took two for a second time, and Iacofano took one. On this street, action checked around to Iacofano and he fired out a bet. Both Bell and Shchemelev called.

The third draw saw Bell stand pat, Shchemelev take one, Schultz pull two for a third time, and Iacofano take one. Action checked around and Iacofano tabled {9-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{2-} to win the side pot.

Schultz fanned {8-}{4-}{3-} and was drawing live. He slapped his first card on the felt - a {7-}.

"Come on!" someone shouted from Schultz's rail. He was drawing live and needed to beat a ninety-eight in order to stay alive. Alas, his final card was the {Q-Clubs} and he was officially eliminated from play in 12th place. Iacofano scooped all of the chips and now has about 170,000 to his name.

Mike Leah Eliminated in 11th place ($6,586)

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Mike Leah - 11th Place
Mike Leah - 11th Place

Mike Leah's departure came in a two-hand combo.

In the first hand, Ismael Bojang opened and Leah called from the big blind. Both players drew two cards, Leah lead out, and Bojang called. Both players drew one and Leah check-called a bet from Bojang. Leah drew one and Bojang stood pat. Leah check-called a bet again and Bojang showed him {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for the pot.

The very next hand, Leah was only left with 8,000. He raised all in and Vladimir Shchemelev called from the big blind. Shchemelev drew one, Leah drew two, then Shchemelev stood pat down, and Leah drew two cards on the final two draws. Shchemelev turned up {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-} and Leah's final draw paired him up. Leah was busted in 11th place for $6,586

Colin Wickersheim raised from under the gun and found calls from Tom Franklin on the button and David Gee in the big blind. On the first draw, Gee took one card while Wickersheim and Franklin each pulled two. Gee bet, Wickersheim raised, and his two opponents called.

The second draw saw each player pick up one new card. Action checked around and each player pulled one card one last time. Gee fired a bet, Wickersheim called all in for his last 10,000, and Franklin folded.

"Number one," said Gee, rolling over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Wickersheim flashed an eighty-seven before mucking his hand and exiting the tournament area. He'll collect $8,672 in 10th-place prize money.

Play has come to an end on Day 2 in Event #16: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball. After 10 levels of action, only eight runners remain. Captain Tom Franklin ended the night with the chip lead bagging up 436,000. Close on his heels is David Bell with just 10,000 fewer chips.

Captain Tom will be looking for his second career World Series of Poker bracelet. Franklin won a $2,500 Limit Omaha event in 1999. He has has 39 cashes at the WSOP and over $1,000,000 in career earnings.

Still in the hunt for a bracelet are Vladimir Shchemelev, Todd Bui, Kevin Iacofano, Aaron Steury, David Gee, and the shortest stack Ismael Bojang who is on life support with less than one big bet.

Day 2 began with 54 hopefuls seeking WSOP gold. Only 36 of the remaining players would make the money and it did not take long to narrow down the field. Some players falling short of a cash were Jason Mercier, David Baker, Joseph Cheong, Jason Mercier, Ronit Chamani, Cathy Dever, and Nacho Barbero.

Those fortunate to bust with some conciliation included Day 1 chip leader Mike Leah, Dan Smith, Stephen Chidwick, Daniel Idema, Dan Kelly, Andrey Zaichenko, Todd Brunson, and Layne Flack.

Join us on Saturday for Day 3 action where we will crown a champion. Play will resume at 2 P.M in the gold section of the Amazon room. Follow along with PokerNews for all the day’s big hands and bust outs.
