Buonocore Busts, Jones Triples

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Catching the action on the flop of {2-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, we found Ryan Jones all in for his last 146,000 preflop as both Bryan Buonocore and Brian Appelbaum were the two active players on the flop. Buonocore immediately moved all in for 243,000 and Appelbaum called.

Jones: {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Buonocore: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Appelbaum: {J-Spades}{10-Spades}

The turn of the {4-Clubs} saw Jones spike a wheel, and when the river landed the {2-Clubs}, he would triple to just under 500,000 as Buonocore departed.

Potter Jams from Button

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Matthew Reed opened with a raise to 35,000 from the hijack seat, and Chris Lindh called in the cutoff seat. Play then was on Jason Potter on the button. He took a few moments, then reraised all in for right round 380,000. The blinds folded, then Reed and Lindh quickly followed suit, and Potter took the pot.

Potter is from Tulsa, Oklahoma and has over $1 million in live tournament earnings. At the World Series of Poker, Potter has cashed 17 others times over his career, with his best result coming from 2009 when he took fourth in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for $185,444. Potter has one WSOP Main Event cash from last year, where he took 548th for $21,707.

Cohen's Heater Continues

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jason Cohen says he was card dead for six hours yesterday. Needless to say, that cold stretch is over.

Just minutes after making a straight flush, Cohen eliminated Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes to climb to close to 2 million in chips. After Lopes opened for a raise from the cutoff, Cohen three-bet to 82,000 from the button. Lopes moved all in for 458,000, and Cohen snapped it off.

Lopes: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Cohen: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Cohen avoided any drama when the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{J-Spades}, sending the popular French rapper to the rail.

Unfortunately for Cohen, his victory came with a dealer change. But before dealer Jason moved on to the next table, Cohen said he'd be sending him a Christmas card this year.

Gazes Hits the Rail

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Kristy Gazes, seen here playing an event earlier this summer.
Kristy Gazes, seen here playing an event earlier this summer.

Kristy Gazes jammed 163,000 after action folded to her on the button. Cary Marshall announced a call in the small blind, and the big blind folded immediately.

"I like your hand," Gazes said before the players showed.

Marshall: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Gazes: {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Gazes was behind, but she had two live cards. The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} though, pairing Marshall and leaving Gazes with three outs. The turn and river were {9-Hearts} and {7-Hearts}, and Gazes was done.

Hsiung: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Pospiech: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, pairing Pospiech's ace to double him up.

Schwartz Doubles Through Mason

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Noah Schwartz
Noah Schwartz

The action started with Noah Schwartz opening to 37,000 from under the gun. Ami Alibay made the call from the button, as did Ashley Mason from the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, and Mason checked. Schwartz threw out a continuation bet of 61,000, as Alibay got out of the way. Mason then paused for a moment, before raising it up to 146,000. Schwartz stared down the bet, before opting to move all in for 469,000, which was snap called.

Mason: {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Schwartz: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Schwartz was in the lead with top pair, but had to dodge many cards on the turn and river. Mason was unable to improve, as the board ran out the {a-Diamonds} and {2-Spades} to see a third of his chips get moved to his left.

Philip Long Busts Steve Bartlett

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Steve Bartlett raised to 40,000, and Philip Long moved all in. Bartlett called for his last 295,000 and turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. He was behind Long’s {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and he would need help. The board came {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and Long’s pair of jacks won the pot, pushing him over the two million-chip mark, and sending Bartlett to the payout window.

Schwarmann Shoves on Merson

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded around to Nick Schwarmann in the hijack, and he made it 33,000, to go. Greg Merson reraised to 72,000 on the button, and action folded back to Schwarmann. He tanked for about 30 seconds before moving all in, a bet that would cost Merson almost all his chips. Merson quickly folded, and Schwarmann took down the pot. .

Batt Bounced

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jordan Batt was just all in for around 350,000 or so and at risk before the flop in a hand versus Anthony Forsyth-Forrest. Batt did have the best hand, however, with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} versus Forsyth-Forrest's {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

"Did anybody fold a king?" asked Forsyth-Forrest as the dealer prepared to deliver the community cards.

"I folded two of them," cracked Ashley Mason from across the table, and all chuckled.

Not that anyone doubted Mason was kidding, but the flop then confirmed such utterly as it dramatically came {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} to improve Forsyth-Forrest to a set of kings.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and river the {2-Clubs}, and Batt was eliminated.
