Rustom Busts Robert, Takes Chip Lead

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Sami Rustom
Sami Rustom

Sami Rustom bet 80,000 after Vincent Robert checked to him on a flop of {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Robert came back with a raise to 200,000, which Rustom called after a brief pause. The turn brought a {q-Spades}, and Robert pushed all in for 704,000.

Rustom began tanking.

"It doesn't make sense," he finally said, sliding in a tower of green T25,000 chips.

Rustom: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Robert: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Rustom had correctly deduced that he was ahead, but Robert would take the pot and double up with a diamond or an ace on the end. The river was a {10-Hearts}, and Rustom took all of his foe's chips and the overall chip lead.

Featured Table Counts

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

After a flurry of big pots to start this table, play has been relatively tight. Here's how the stacks are currently looking.

Reed Takes Chip Lead From Lindh

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Picking up the action after a {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop with a healthy amount in the middle, Chris Lindh bet 160,000 from the small blind and Matthew Reed called on the button. The {5-Clubs} turn fell and and Lindh fired 265,000 this time. A call from Reed landed the {4-Spades} river, which Lindh checked. Reed bet 400,000, sending Lindh into the tank. After counting out the 400,000 multiple times, he opted to call.

Reed tabled {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}, Lindh mucked, and Reed collected the pot.

Teased by the Door Card

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Richard Robinson raised to 50,000 from under the gun, and Senovio Ramirez shoved all in for 451,000 from the small blind. Robinson called, and the players showed their cards:

Robinson: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Ramirez: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The door card was the {j-Hearts}, and for a moment it looked like Robinson would get a stranglehold on the hand with his set, but the full flop was {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, giving Ramirez a Broadway straight. The turn was a brick, the {6-Hearts}, and the {k-Hearts} on the river changed nothing. Ramirez doubed up on hand.

Bardah Shoves, Collects

Ronnie Bardah has been short-stacked for a while, and just now he open-pushed all in, singing "Send Me an Angel" as he did. Getting no callers, Bardah showed his hand — {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} — and collected the pot.

"This is the same hand I busted in '10 with," Bardah said to the table. Indeed, three years ago when Bardah made his deep run in the Main Event, he was dealt {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} on his final hand and ran into Filippo Candio's pocket aces to finish 24th for a $317,161 cash.

By the way, Bardah is tying a WSOP record this year by cashing in his fourth straight Main Event after finishing 453rd ($27,103) in 2011 and 540th ($21,707) in 2012.

"I'm not going anywhere," added Bardah, tossing the circular "ALL IN" disc back to the dealer and waiting for the next hand to be dealt.

Damelian Spikes River to Double Big

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Somar Al-Darwich Loses a Big Pot
Somar Al-Darwich Loses a Big Pot

The action started with Somar Al-Darwich opening to 50,000 from under the gun plus one. Bryan Pellegrino made the call from middle position, as did Roberto Damelian on the button.

The flop came down {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and Al-Darwich threw out a continuation bet of 83,000. Pellegrino opted to fold, before Damelian made the call.

The {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Al-Darwich checked. Damelian then reached for his chips, and bet out 125,000. Al-Darwich thought for a moment, before raising it up to 258,000. Damelian cut out several different amounts of stacks, and thought about his decision for a minute as well. He finally bumped it up to 500,000. Al-Darwich paused for a moment, before announcing all in, for more than two million in chips.

The bet had Damelian covered, and he tanked for over a minute, before making the call.

Al-Darwich: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Damelian: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Damelian had turned trip tens, but his opponent had made a full house. He needed any ace or ten on the river to win the hand, and that’s just what he received. The {a-Hearts} completed the board, sending Damelian out of his chair to celebrate with his rail, as Al-Darwich went for a walk around the empty Amazon floor.

Porter Doubles Through Griffin

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded around to Rep Porter on the button, and he open shoved for his last 427,000. Ashton Griffin was in the big blind, and he called it off for half his stack.

Griffin: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Porter: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Porter was in great shape to secure the double up, and he kept the lead the whole way on a board of {2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Porter doubled up to 890,000, while Griffin fell to 313,000.
