Dattani Loses Some Before Table Break

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Umang Dattani
Umang Dattani

Umang Dattani and Eli Heath were involved in a substantial pot just before the two broke tables and moved.

On a flop of {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} with about 50,000 chips in the pot already, Heath led for 27,000. In the next seat Dattani reraised to 70,000 which put Joseph Hertzog in the tank. Eventually Hertzog frustratedly mucked his hand putting the action back on Heath. He tanked for a bit but eventually called.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and both players checked to see the {5-Hearts} on the river where both players checked again. "Nines," Dattani said.

Heath did him one better though and showed his {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush draw that turned into a pair. That was good enough to take down the pot just before the two players moved tables.

"You Lose"

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Fredrik Halling limped in from the small blind, and Marvin Rettenmaier popped it to 33,000 from the big blind.

"Big raise," Halling said, but he called anyway.

The flop came down {2-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Halling check-called 28,000. He check-called 46,000 after the {2-Clubs} turned, and the river brought a {k-Diamonds}. Halling checked once more. After some thought, Rettenmaier checked behind him.

"You lose," Halling said, turning over {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a boat. Retternmaier mucked his hand, and the two exchanged some banter about how the river may have cost Halling some value.

Goldstein Bets, Collects

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

With the board showing {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and around 165,000 in the middle, Nathan Goldstein pushed out an all-in bet of 114,000 and Samuel Taylor went into the tank for over a minute deciding what to do.

Finally Taylor folded, asking Goldstein if he'd show one card and Goldstein turned down the offer. "Better than ace-jack" surmised one at the table. "Better than ace-queen," said another with confidence.

Whatever Goldstein had, the bet he made was enough to win him the pot.

After unknown preflop action, Paul Lackey was all in and at risk for around 200,000 holding {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. His opponent, David Stephens, had him crushed with {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, and held as the board rolled out {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Lackey was off to the cage to collect his cash, while Stephens is up to 820,000 chips.

Bardah Busts Abdel Rahim, Then Wins Another

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Ronnie Bardah (Day 3)
Ronnie Bardah (Day 3)

Ronnie Bardah is now up to 650,000 in chips after busting Muhammad Abdel Rahim, then taking a three-way pot that involved Kevin Allen and Amir Lehavot.

On the hand where Bardah busted Abdel Rahim, the two were in action on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Abdel Rahim fired a bet of 31,000, and Bardah raised to 61,000. Abdel Rahim reraised all in for around 160,000, and Bardah snapped it off.

Bardah showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top two pair against Abdel Rahim's {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, leaving Abdel Rahim drawing dead, then the river completed the board with the {3-Hearts}.

On the next hand, Bardah saw a flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} with Allen and Lehavot. Bardah was acting first and bet 28,000. Allen folded, but Lehavot called.

The turn was the {8-Clubs}, placing a four-card straight on the board. Bardah led for 39,000, and Lehavot gave it up.

Doyle Brunson Eliminated

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Doyle Brunson - Eliminated
Doyle Brunson - Eliminated

Tim Ulrich raised to 16,000 in early position and Sergei Stazhkov called from the hijack. Doyle Brunson three-bet to 86,000 on the button, forcing folds from the blinds and from Ulrich. After a few moments Stazhkov re-raised all in, resulting in Brunson calling all in for 204,000.

Stazhkov: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Brunson: {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop was no help to Brunson, nor was the {9-Hearts} turn. With only three outs, the two-time Main Event champion and 10-time bracelet winner was unable to catch a king as the {A-Clubs} river ended Brunson's impressive run.

Brunson received not one, but two rousing ovations from the entire Amazon Room as he graciously made his exit.

Hinkle Gives it Up

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The hand started with Grant Hinkle opening to 16,000 from under the gun, and finding a call from the opponent to his left. The rest of the table folded, as the two saw the flop come {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Hinkle then threw out a continuation bet of 10,000, before being met with an immediate raise to 35,000. He called, as the {9-Hearts} fell on the turn. A check was met with a bet of 50,000, as Hinkle went into the tank. He finally made the call, and stared down his opponent as the {9-Clubs} completed the board.

He then looked at the board, before checking once more. His opponent then moved all in, which was enough to send Hinkle’s cards into the muck.

Blumenthal Calls a Five-Bet With Seven-Six; Doubles

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Eddie Blumenthal
Eddie Blumenthal

Nicholas E. Blumenthal raised in early position, [Removed:532] three-bet to 42,000 in the cutoff, and the action folded back to Blumenthal, who four-bet to 84,000. [Removed:550] returned to the tank.

"One thirty-five," he finally announced, pushing forward a stack of orange T5,000 chips.

It was Blumenthal's turn to tank, and after 90 seconds or so he decided to call, risking a third of his stack. The flop fell {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Blumenthal checked, and [Removed:550] fired out 105,000. Blumenthal moved all in for 276,000, and [Removed:550] called.

Blumenthal: {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
[Removed:550]: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

There was a break in the action to allow the ESPN cameras to get in position, and when they were ready, the dealer burned and turned the {a-Hearts}. Blumenthal shot back in his chair and threw his hands on his head, but he was far from drawing dead - any seven, six, three, or eight would keep him alive.

The {3-Clubs} completed the board, giving Blumenthal a straight, and once again he threw his hands on his head.

"Jeeeeeeeeeeeez," he groaned at the dealer.

Blumenthal doubled to 850,000 chips, while [Removed:550] fell to 805,000.

Flush for Luske

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Marcel Luske
Marcel Luske

Carter Gill raised to 16,000 from early position, and action folded around to Marcel Luske in the big blind. Luske called, and the flop came {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Both players checked, and the dealer turned the {8-Clubs}. Luske bet out for 17,000, and Gill called. The river was the {3-Hearts}, and Luske immediately pushed forward a bet of 35,000. Gill called almost as quickly, and Luske turned over {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush. Gill mucked, and Luske took the pot.
