Vo Heads Straight for the Exit

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We arrived at the table, just as Viet Vo committed the last of his chips in on a board reading {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. He tabled his {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} for the over-pair and straight draw, but had run into his opponent’s {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a made straight.

Unfortunately for Vo, the {q-Hearts} on the river was not the card he was looking for, as he made his way to the rail.

Top-Top for Luske

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Marcel Luske raised to 4,200 from the button, and the only caller was the big blind. Luske continued for 11,000 when the flop came {k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and the blind called. Both players checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn, and then the {9-Clubs} completed the board on the river. The blind bet out for 15,500, and Luske quickly called. His opponent showed {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and Luske turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for a winning top pair on the flop. Luske pulled in the pot, and he was up to 258,000 after the hand.

Anh Van Stacks One

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} we found Anh Van Nguyen calling an opponent's all in.

Nguyen: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The turn and river landed the {K-Clubs} and {4-Hearts} and Nguyen eliminated his opponent while moving to roughly 185,000 in chips.

Cody Continues Quest for Chips

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

Yesterday Jake Cody wore a burgundy sweat jacket with a picture of Muhammad Ali emblazoned on the front. Today he's sporting a bright blue Superman baseball cap turned backward, determined perhaps to continue a heroic journey through the large Main Event field.

Just now Cody continued his quest in a hand versus Vimy Ha that saw the pair reach a {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop with Ha playing out of the small blind and Cody from middle position. Ha checked, Cody bet 4,000, and Ha called. The turn brought the {5-Hearts}, and once more Ha check-called Cody's bet, this time for 10,000.

The river brought the {6-Spades}, and Ha checked once again. Cody fired 15,000 this time, in response to which Ha leaned forward and asked Cody to move his hands so he could see how much Cody had left — about 125,000.

After another half-minute more, Ha called Cody's bet, and when the latter tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, Ha let his hand go.

Wright Folds

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Larry Wright opened to 3,200 and was called in two spots as the flop fell {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Wright continued for 4,200 only to have an opponent on the button bump it up to 10,200. The big blind folded, and when the action returned to Wright, he started chatting to his opponent.

"Did you mean to call or raise?" Wright asked.

When informed that it was meant to be a raise, Wright stated, "Wow!"

About a minute went by before the player in the nine seat called for time which visibly angered Wright as he had only been thinking for a minute or so.

Eventually Wright would release his hand and slip to 75,600 in chips.

Mizrachi Mashed by Buckenmayer

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

While Michael Mizrachi has been on the uptick early today, his brother Rob just made an early exit here on Day 3. Bob Buckenmayer, who finished 17th in this event last year, opened with a raise to 3,300 from early position and Dan Cates and Mizrachi called from late position. The flop rolled out {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, and Buckenmayer fired out a continuation bet of 5,700. Cates called, and Mizrachi moved all in for around 25,000. Buckenmayer elected to call the shove, and Cates tank-folded.

Mizrachi: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}
Buckenmayer: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

Mizrachi was in a world of hurt against Buckenmayer's set, but he picked up some outs when the {9-Clubs} arrived on the turn. Buckenmayer needed to fade a king, nine or three to send Mizrachi home, and he did just that when the {Q-Clubs} landed on the river.

Ace-High For Weisner

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Melanie Weisner
Melanie Weisner

The table folded around to Melanie Weisner on the button, who opened to 3,500. She was called by the player on the big blind, as both watched the flop come {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Weisner focused on her opponent, before placing out a continuation bet of 3,000 after facing a check. The bet was called, before the {5-Clubs} fell on the turn. Both players opted to check, and do the same when the {q-Clubs} completed the board.

The player on the big blind tabled his {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for king-high, before Weisner showed her {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} for ace-high. Weisner now moves up to 185,000 in chips.

End Boss Wins an Early One

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tong Gregg raised to 3,500 from the hijack, and the lone caller was Paresh Manek defending his big blind. Both players checked an all spade flop of {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}, and the turn brought the {4-Diamonds}. Manek checked to Gregg, who tossed out a bet of 5,000. Manek called, then checked the {j-Clubs} on the turn. Gregg bet out again, this time for 12,000, and that got a fold from Manek.

Gregg took down the early pot to get his stack up to 265,000.

Frankenberger Folds the River

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Andy Frankenberger called a raise from the player under the gun, and Jack Amyx reraised to 9,000 from the small blind. The original raiser folded, and Frankenberger called. Amyx bet 7,000 after the {6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop, and Frankenberger raised to 15,000. Amyx called. Both players checked the {10-Diamonds} turn, and Amyx moved all in on the river. Frankenberger quickly folded.
