Break Time; Mizrachi Still Leads, Gold Gone in Cooler

The penultimate level of the night is over and the remaining Day 2c players are heading on a 20-minute break.

Level nine began a little slower then usual with players adjusting back into the swing of things following a long dinner break. Ebony Kenney and Amal Bounahra led the casualties while Jason Mercier, Eric Baldwin, Joseph Cheong and Pieter de Korver were also found on the rail.

However it would be husband and wife combo Laura Green and Scott Born that may have some words to exchange to each other as Born managed to double through Green and another player to stay alive when he rivered Broadway.

Just as the final few hands were about to be dealt, Jamie Gold was involved in a cooler hand when he turned a straight with only to run into a turned full house by Gregory Liang. Gold let off a series of profanities before making his way to the rail to leave the Main Event short of another previous Champion.

The same tale of chip leaders would hold true throughout the level, and although both Michael Mizrachi and Mark Kroon would relinquish some chips, they both would sit up top with Mizrachi having around 440,000 and Kroon sitting with 400,000.

We caught up to Phil Collins on a flop of in a three-way pot. Collins had checked from the big blind. The next player to act led out for 3,400. Another player called the bet before Collins raised to 11,500. The original raiser folded but the player who called the first bet called again.

The turn was the and Collins led for 15,500. The other player in the hand thought about it for nearly two minutes before finally folding his hand. Collins moved to right around 120,000 in chips after the hand.

Hershler Takes Out Odeh

The hand started with Eric Hershler opening to 2,200 from under the gun, as the action folded around to Michael Odeh in the cutoff. He raised it up to 5,400, and was called.

The flop came down , as both players decided to check. The fell on the turn, and Hershler bet out 8,000, which was called. The completed the board, before Hershler quickly moved all in for his last 49,200 in chips.

The bet took Odeh by surprise, as he stood up from his chair. He took a drink of water, and put his hands in his pocket, as he tanked for several minutes.

“You have pocket eights?” asked Odeh, as Hershler sat there in silence. Odeh then pulled a bag from under the table, and started placing his phone and headphones inside.

Zhao Can't Get Opponent To Show

We were approaching Susie Zhao's table when we saw a player raise to 2,200 from the cutoff. Zhao was next to act and she reraised to 4,700. Action folded around and the player called.

The flop came down and Zhao stared down her opponent as it fell. The player in the cutoff checked. Zhao checked behind. Both players checked again on the turn.

The river was the and the player in the cutoff bet out 11,000. Zhao went into the tank.

"Will you show if i fold?" Zhao asked, to which the player shook his head. "No? You won't show?"

Zhao continue to press her luck with her opponent, trying to get any information she could from him. "How about just one?" she asked. "Can I see one? Not even one? Let me pick one?" Again the player shook his head.

Eventually, Zhao gave up her assault and folded her hand. The other player never showed his hand.

Gold Gone; Liang Wins Cooler

Following a preflop raise, a call from the button and one from Gregory Liang in the small blind, Jamie Gold three-bet an additional 10,000 from the big. The original raiser folded and the button called before Liang made a four-bet to an additional 15,000.

Following some confusion between the exact amounts, Gold smooth-called, as did the button to see a flop. The action was checked round to see the land on the turn and Liang move all in for over 50,000.

"I don't think I can fold!" announced Gold as he stood up.

"Holy s**t!" Holy s**t!" Gold added as he continued to deliberate.

"No way I can fold this hand!" finally stated Gold as he slid in his final 40,000 as the button player - who had been texting on his phone for the duration of the hand - open-folded .
