Last Break of the Night: Eliminations, Small Stacks & Big Stacks

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Amazon Room Main Event Tournament Area
Amazon Room Main Event Tournament Area

Level 4 is in the books, and that means it's time for the last 20-minute break of the day. The Pavilion Room and Tan Section of the Amazon are completely broke, as are a few tables in Orange. That said, the vast majority of the Amazon Room and the entire Brasilia Room are full of players. When they return, they'll play one more two-hour level before calling it a night.

One player who won't be bagging is Natalie Hoff, who was one of the Level 3 casualties. Unfortunately her pair of kings wasn't able to hold up against pocket nines. Likewise, Sergei Baranov and Zimnan Ziyard were both eliminated from the tournament.

On the flip side, 2003 WSOP Main Event champ Chris Moneymaker is still alive though extremely short. The same can be said of 2008 WSOP Player of the Year Erick Lindgren.

A few players who aren't in immediate danger of elimination are Clement Tripodi, Daniel Cates and Danny Illingworth, who are all sitting with big stacks.

St. Pierre Still Battling

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Georges St. Pierre opened to 600 from UTG+1 and the cutoff made the call. The {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs} saw St. Pierre continue with a 1,000 bet and his opponent instantly folded.

It may have only been a small pot, but the all count in this game.

Ravi Raghavan Riding Big' Mo to an Even Bigger Stack

Ravi Raghavan (Seen Here Playing in Event #57) is Building His Second Big Stack in as Many Big Buy-In NLH Events

After making a very deep run in another big buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Event just three days ago (Event #57 $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em), where he finished in 13th place and earned $37,806 for his efforts, pro Ravi Raghavan is proving that superior skills, momentum, and a little run good make a dangerous combination.

Ragahavan has quietly built a big stack through Level 4 of Day 1b, and appears to have chipped up every time we pass his table.

As he proved with a huge win at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, Las Vegas $10,000 Championship Event, Raghavan is fully capable of closing the deal, and by amassing a big stack here today, he is giving himself a shot to do just that on the biggest stage in poker.

Baumann Lets It Go

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

We arrived at the table to see the player under the gun plus one open to 800, before getting called by 2012 Main Event final table bubble, Gaelle Baumann, make the call, as well one other player from the blinds.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, as the big blind checked his option, before the original raised threw out a continuation bet of 2,100 in chips. Only Baumann made the call, as both saw the {j-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Another bet of 3,000 was too much for Baumann, as she mucked her hand. Her opponent paused for a moment, before showing his {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}, as he raked in the pot.

Watch Out for Depa

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jonathan Depa
Jonathan Depa

We happened upon Table 394 to see Jonathan Depa tabling the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} on a {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} board. His opponent on the button mucked and Depa pulled in a pot of about 10,000. That normally wouldn't be too special, but the fact that he was adding to his stack of 115,000 was as it makes him one of the biggest stacks in the room.
