Brubaker Over Johnson

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Brian Brubaker — who happens to be celebrating a birthday today — raised from middle position and it folded around to Marco Johnson who called from the big blind.

Both drew two cards on the initial draw, and when Johnson bet out Brubaker called. Johnson then stood pat on the second draw while Brubaker took two cards. Johnson bet again, and this time Brubaker raised. Johnson paused just a moment before calling.

Both stood pat on the third draw. Johnson checked, Brubaker bet, and Johnson shook his head a little before calling.

Brubaker tabled a number two — {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} — and Johnson mucked.

Zolotow Gets Small Double

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Steve Zolotow raised it up to 1,600 from the button, leaving just 600 behind. Konstantin Puchkov called from the big blind, then drew two cards, while Zolotow drew 1. Puchkov check called the final 600 of Zolotow, then drew two again, whole Zolotow stood pat. Puchkov was clearly not a fan of his new cards, as he debated for a while before tossing three cards towards the dealer. Zolotow stood pat again, and revealed {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}, while Puchkov could only show {3-}{2-}. A {9-} was the first card he showed, and he was already drawing dead.

It was just a flesh wound for Puchkov, who is up to 45,000, while Zolotow got the much needed double up to 5,000.

Lisandro Up, Jivkov Down

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Jeff Lisandro
Jeff Lisandro

Jeff Lisandro raised, then Ted Jivkov three-bet from the blinds and Lisandro called. Jivkov took three on the first draw and Lisandro just one, and Jivkov check-called a bet from Lisandro. Both then drew one card, and again Jivkov check-called a bet.

On the third draw, Jivkov drew one, Lisandro stood pat, and both checked. Jivkov showed a {J-} and Lisandro spread out {9-}{8-}{4-}{3-}{2-} to win the pot.

That one knocked Jivkov down under 3,000, but he'd doubled on the next hand versus Gavin Smith after drawing to a {7-}{6-}{3-}{3-}{2-} versus Smith's {10-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}.

One of You Guys is Up to Something

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Jeff Lisandro raised it up in the cutoff, and both the blinds, Gavin Smith and Tom Schneider, defended. Lisandro and Schneider both drew one card, while Smith drew three. Smith checked to Schneider, who fired out, and got calls from both his opponents. This time around, both Lisandro and Schneider stood pat, while Smith drew two. The same betting occurred, but this time, Lisandro folded. As he called, Smith said "one of you guys is up to something," which got a laugh from Lisandro, who was no longer in the hand.

Smith drew one on the final draw, while Schneider stayed pat again. Both players checked, and Schneider showed {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Smith briefly flashed what appeared to be {j-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, also saying "I had the other two deuces as well."

Tepen Takes from Mizrachi

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Ryan Tepen raised from the cutoff, then Michael Mizrachi reraised from the small blind, forcing a fold from David "ODB" Baker one seat to his left. Tepen came back with a four-bet, and after pausing a beat Mizrachi called.

The first two draws went similarly, with Mizrachi taking two cards, Tepen one, and Mizrachi check-calling a bet from his opponent. Both players then stood pat on the third draw. Mizrachi checked again, Tepen bet again, and this time Mizrachi let his hand go.

Mercier Meets End

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Jason Mercier's Day 2 comeback attempt has come to an end here at the start of the day's second level.

In his last hand, the blinds had just increased to 400/800 and Mercier was down to his last 1,000. He raised all in from the button. David Blatte then called from small blind, although he didn't realize Mercier's bet was for 1,000 and the floor had to be called for some clarification. Blatte's call of the raise stood, and Naoya Kihara came along from the big blind.

Blatte then tossed out four cards for the first draw, earning a chuckle from the table. Both Kihara and Mercier took three, then Blatte bet and Kihara called. Blatte took one, Kihara two, and Mercier two on the next round, and again Blatte bet and Kihara called.

The third round saw Blatte standing pat, Kihara taking two cards, and Mercier one. Both Blatte and Kihara checked. Blatte tabled {9-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Kihara showed a hand with a {J-}. Meanwhile Mercier turned over his {8-}{7-}{4-}{2-}, then squeezed his final card — a pairing {8-} — before departing.
