Brian Tate: {x-}{x-} / {2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {x-}
Ville Wahlbeck: {x-}{x-} / {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} / {x-}
Jared Bleznick: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} Fold

Brian Tate brought it in with the {2-Clubs} and Ville Wahlbeck completed with a deuce of his own. Jared Bleznick, who was also showing a deuce, then made it 4,000 and both his opponents called. Bleznick and Tate checked fourth, and then both called a bet from Wahlbeck. Tate proceeded to bet out when he took the lead on fifth, Wahlbeck called and Bleznick got out of the way.

Wahlbeck proceeded to check-call bets on both sixth and seventh and tabled {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for hidden trips. Tate then flipped over the {8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{7-Hearts} for the low and the two chopped up Bleznick's chips.

It wasn't much of a hand but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their current chip counts.

Second David Baker Down

Nível 6

Pot-Limit Omaha

The two David Bakers — "ODB" and "Bakes" — were seated next to each other to start play on Day 2, but unfortunately for them, both have been eliminated by the halfway point of Level 6.

Following the earlier exit of "ODB," it was "Bakes" getting the last of his stack in on the turn in a PLO hand with the board showing {K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Baker had {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for top set, but need to improve against Dee Tiller's flush with {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The river was the {3-Clubs}, and now both Bakers are out.

Flipping Coins in PLO

Nível 6

Pot-Limit Omaha

We came on a big decision point in a PLO hand between new registrant Jean Gaspard and Artem Litvinov.

The pair had reached the river with the board showing {J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Litvinov having made a pot-sized bet of 18,000. Gaspard responded by raising to 60,000, and Litvinov spent a couple of minutes in contemplation thinking about what to do.

Finally Litvinov turned to the right in his seat and sat with his eyes closed, beginning a kind of ritual he has become somewhat known for doing in such spots. He sat quietly for a few seconds in the pose, then suddenly flipped a coin, looked at the result, and called the raise.

Gaspard quickly tabled {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for aces full, and Litvinov mucked, the coin flip having failed him.

Danzer Doubles Through the Grinder

Nível 6

Pot-Limit Omaha

We arrived at the table to find Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and George Danzer looking down at a board of {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The action prior to the point is still unknown, but we witnessed Mizrachi moving out towers of chips on the turn for what looked to be a pot-sized bet. Danzer was in the tank for quite some time before finally raising not much more over the top to officially get his stack all in.

Danzer: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Mizrachi: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Danzer was ahead with his aces and stayed that way as the {3-Diamonds} bricked out on the river for Mizrachi. Mizrachi was forced to ship 118,700 over to Danzer for a double up and the reigning champion is now knocked down to around 115,000.

Pot for the 2011 Champ

Nível 6

Pot-Limit Omaha

We happened upon Table 352 with 25,000 or so in the pot and a board reading {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Brian Rast, who win this event back in 2011 for $1,720,328, checked from early position and Daniel Alaei, who was in the hijack, bet 19,000.

Rast proceeded to check-raise the size of the pot, which made it 83,500 total. Alaei hit the tank and spent several minutes in it until Dee Tiller opted to call a clock. A short time later Alaei relinquished his hand and Rast was pushed the pot.

"ODB" Out

Nível 6

Razz

On the second hand of the day, Phil Ivey completed, Brian Rast raised, and it folded to David "ODB" Baker who checked his cards. Ivey began the hand with about 10,000, while Baker was down to about 3,000. Finally, Baker decided to call all in.

Ivey then had to think a moment, and when he looked up and saw Baker all in, he cracked a smile. "You have less than I do," he said, and the table chuckled.

With Rast's help, Ivey ended up getting the last of his chips on third as well. They tabled their hole cards and the hand was dealt through sixth:

"ODB": {A-}{8-} / {6-}{A-}{5-}{K-}
Ivey: {7-}{6-} / {4-}{2-}{6-}{Q-}
Rast: {3-}{2-} / {A-}{8-}{8-}{Q-}

Seventh street was dealt. Ivey pulled the last {A-} to make a seven, Rast caught a {5-} to make an eight, and "ODB" mucked his last card, his Event #55 run having ended.
