Big Stack Poker

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Two of the biggest stacks left in the tournament just got into a preflop raising war.

Joseph Wertz raised to 45,000 preflop, and Barry Hutter then three-bet to 120,000. Wertz tanked for a couple minutes, then reraised to 320,000. Hutter then thought for a minute before announcing, "All-in." He held more than 1.6 million in chips before the hand started. Wertz thought for a few moments, but acted relatively quickly in releasing his hand.

Bednarek Not Sleeping Yet

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Barry Hutter opened to 45,000 from early position. A few seats over Matthias Bednarek moved his whole stack in. Jacob Bazeley tanked in the small blind for about 30 seconds before releasing his hand. Hutter thought about it briefly as well, then made the call.

Hutter: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Bednarek: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

"I had sevens," Bazeley announced to the table as he got up to go talk to the rail.

The board came down {7-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, meaning that Bazeley would've flopped a set. He walked back to the table and saw this. "I should've just trusted Stephanie," Bazeley said talking about the dealer. The turn was the {9-Spades}, and the river was the {3-Hearts} keeping Bednarek in the lead the whole way and granting him a double up through the chip leader, Hutter.

Rupesh Pattni Eliminated in 12th Place ($26,128)

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Rupesh Pattni
Rupesh Pattni

Rupesh Pattni got involved in all-confrontations with Molissa Farber on consecutive hands. On the first, Farber open-shoved all in with about 140,000, and Pattni called. Pattni held {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and was behind Farber's {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Neither player held a diamond for a flush, and Farber's pair of tens won the pot. Farber doubled up, and Pattni was left crippled.

On the next hand, Farber raised to 50,000, and Pattni three-bet all in for just a little bit more. Farber called and turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Pattni held {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, pairing Pattni's king, but not giving him enough help to pull ahead of Farber's aces. Pattni was eliminated in 12th place, earning $26,128.

Thomas Hall Eliminated in 13th Place ($20,472)

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Thomas Hall
Thomas Hall

Michael Zucchet began the action by raising to 45,000 from middle position. Two seats to his left, Thomas Hall moved all in for his entire stack of about 330,000. Action folded back to Zucchet who quickly called.

Zucchet: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Hall: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop came {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} giving Hall a set, and it looked as if it would be an easy double up from there, but the {10-Clubs} turn gave Zucchet some outs that he didn't have before. On the river the {Q-Clubs} came, completely devastating Hall as Zucchet had hit perfect perfect to win the hand with the nut straight on the river.

Hall let out a few deep breaths but managed to maintain his composure through the brutal suck out as he shook hands with everyone and made his way from the tournament area.

The Rich Get Richer

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Barry Hutter raised to 45,000 preflop, and Kenneth Gregersen three-bet to 100,000. Hutter thought for a minute and made the call, and the dealer spread {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} on the flop. Hutter checked, and Gregersen continued for 85,000. Hutter spend a minute thinking, then check-raised to 180,000. Gregersen went deep into the tank. He thought about the situation and tried to get a read from Hutter, but after about five minutes, he slid his cards toward the dealer, yielding the pot to Hutter.

A Day Full Of Doubles: Bigelow Gets His

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Everyone had folded to the blinds where Thomas Hall moved effectively all in with a covering stack on Jason Bigelow. Bigelow snap called and the two tabled their hands.

Hall: {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Bigelow: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} keeping Bigelow in the lead, but that all changed when the {K-Hearts} fell on the turn. Hall picked up the lead with a pair of kings, but that changed as well when the {A-Hearts} fell on the river to give Bigelow a better pair of aces.

With that, Bigelow doubled while Hall was left with just around 300,000 chips.

Gregersen Doubles

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dana Castaneda raised to 60,000 under the gun, and action folded around to Kenneth Gregersen in the big blind. Gregersen moved all in, and Castaneda called.

Castaneda: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Gregersen: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop all but cinched it for Gregersen, coming {3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. Castaneda would need running nines to make quads to beat Gregersen's jacks, but it was not to be. The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and the river the {3-Diamonds}, securing the pot - and a double up - for Gregersen.
