Hansen Check-Raises on the River

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Fabian Quoss raised to 40,000 from under the gun, Gus Hansen defended his big blind, and the flop fell {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The pair knuckled on the turn ({k-Diamonds}), and the {9-Diamonds} completed the board. Hansen checked, Quoss fired out 60,000, and Hansen check-raised to 137,000. Quoss quickly folded, and Hansen picked up the pot.

Lichtenberger Devours Juanda

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

"All in and a call," we heard the dealer at the feature table announce. We made our way up just in time to see John Juanda all in holding the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and up against the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} of Andrew Lichtenberger.

The man known as "lucky chewy" was well out in front, and the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} flop essentially sealed the deal as he flopped Broadway with a royal flush redraw! Juanda could still chop with a non-spade ace, but he wouldn't find one as the {4-Diamonds} appeared on the turn followed by the {J-Diamonds} on the river.

Preflop Raising War

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Andrew Robl raised to 50,000 in early position, Connor Drinan three-bet to 135,000 on the button, and both blinds released. Robl put in a four-bet, making it 280,000 to go, and Drinan five-bet shoved for effectively 1.6 million or so.

Robl folded.

Glantz Uses Walking Sticks to Score a Double

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded to Matt Glantz on the button and he shoved all in for 220,000. Shaun Deeb was in the small blind and isolated by moving all in over the top, which drove out the short-stacked big.

Glantz: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Deeb: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

It was a flip, and Glantz was looking good when he survived the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop. The {4-Clubs} turn was of no consequence and neither was the {A-Diamonds} river. Glantz's walking sticks held and he doubled through Deeb.

Don't Point Your Finger at Me

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

In the last hand before the level went up, Eugene Katchalov opened for 32,000 from early position only to have Ben Lamb three-bet from the cutoff for 84,000. Martin Finger proceeded to four-bet to 140,000 from the small blind and Katchalov quickly folded. Lamb wasn't so quick to act, but eventually he did the same thing.

Sevens Good for Schulman

Nível 15 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

When we arrived at the table, the board was completed {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Nick Schulman checked, Dan Perper fired out 92,000 into a pot of around 160,000, and Schulman went deep into the tank.

While he was thinking, Schulman put both hands on his head and closed his eyes. Finally, he grabbed enough chips to make the call, and committed them.

Perper motioned that Schulman was good, and Schulman tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a pair of sevens, winning the pot.
