Both were happy to check, as the fell on the turn, as the player in late position checked. Mercier reached for chips, and threw out 2,900, which was called, as the completed the board. Check-check followed, before Mercier’s opponent tabled for top two-pair.

The player in the cut-off moved all in for 8,850, and waited as Sorel Mizzi contemplated his decision from the button. He was deciding what to do, before asking the player in the big blind how much he had. No response saw Mizzi ask the dealer for some assistance.
“Can you cut down his chips?” asked Mizzi.
“No, I can’t. Only if he’s all in,” replied the dealer.
Mizzi then leaned in on his chair, as he attempted to count the big blinds stack, before announcing all in, which had both blinds covered. The set of cards flew into the muck, before both players then tabled their cards.

Zohair Karim (Seen Here Competing in the 2011 WSOP) Has Emerged as the Chip Leader Late on Day 1
As the day marches towards its conclusion, we've spotted a familiar face holding one of the largest stacks in the room.
Zohair Karim, who recently captured his first WSOP Circuit ring at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, West Palm Beach stop, has quietly amassed a stack of over 100,000, which would be the first of that size we've noticed thus far.
Karim was recently seen making an opening raise before the flop, and with the huge chip lead, he found no takers as the table quickly folded around.
We arrived at the table, just in time to see Darryll Fish all in for 17,900 pre-flop, and Dominik Nitsche having made the call.
Fish:

“Just put down an ace,” joked Nitsche, before the dealer spread out a flop of . The fell on the turn, as Fish guaranteed himself a double up.
“Now give him an ace,” joked Fish, as the meaningless fell on the river. Both players were able to laugh it off, as the table was broken shortly after.
On the flop, Samantha Cohen led out for 4,000 and was quickly called by her opponent.
The turn came and Cohen slowed down, check-calling a bet of 7,500. When the completed the board on the river, Cohen checked again, as did her opponent.
"Fives," announced the other player, while Cohen tabled her .
"I was shipping on the river if you bet it," replied Cohen, as she dragged the sizable pot her way.
Michael Gathy (on his way to capturing his second WSOP gold bracelet)
The action started with the player under the gun plus one opening to 1,200, and finding three callers, one of which was Michael Gathy on the button. The flop came down , as the small blind checked. The original better threw out a continuation bet of 2,500, which was only called by Gathy. On the turn, another 5,000 bet was called by Gathy, as both saw the complete the board.
The player under the gun plus one, announced all in for just under 10,000 in chips, and was immediately snap called by Gathy, who turned over for quads. His opponent was a little shocked, mucking his hand, before stepping up from the table, and leaving the tournament area.
With the field dwindling as the day draws to a close, the pros still in contention are making their push to build a stack for tomorrow's moving day.
