We arrived after the draw to find Ben Yu, Phil Galfond, and Billy Baxter all sitting with cards in front of them and roughly 3,000 already in the middle.

Yu checked and Galfond did the same, prompting Baxter to flick 2,500 into the middle. Yu went into the tank for a bit before finally deciding to let his hand go and suddenly it was Galfond's turn to think. Eventually, Galfond moved out a call and Baxter tossed an eight perfect on the table - . Galfond mucked his hand and Baxter picked up the pot. He's now sitting around 35,000 in chips.

Reigning Champion In The House

Nick Schulman - 2012 No Limit 2-7 Single Draw Champion

While walking through the tournament area, we saw that the reigning champion, Nick Schulman, has taken his seat. Schulman defeated a field of 101 entrants last year to take down his second WSOP bracelet. Schulman battled through a final table that included the likes of Mike Wattel, George Danzer, Benjamin Parker, Ashton Griffin, John Juanda, and Bob Bright in order to earn his second piece of WSOP jewelry.

Interestingly enough, Schulman's first bracelet came from taking down this very event back in 2009.. Schulman dominated a final table that consisted of David Benyamine, Vince Musso, Archie Karas, Juanda, and Steve Sung and ultimately defeated Ville Wahlbeck heads up to grab the gold.

Can Schulman make it number three this year? Only time will tell. The one certainty remains, however, that Schulman is a force to be reckoned with in this game.

Robert Williamson III raised to 350 from under the gun and and was called by Shawn Buchanan in the cutoff and Jesse Martin in the small blind. Calvin Anderson three-bet to 1,200 from the big blind, chasing out only Martin.

Anderson stood pat, Williamson III drew two, and Buchanan drew one. Anderson immediately bet 150, but the dealer informed the table that the minimum bet was double the big blind. The floor confirmed it, so Anderson's bet was 300. Williamson III raised all in for 3,975 (with two lammers behind), Buchanan folded, and Anderson called.

Williamson III tabled , Anderson mucked, and Williamson took the pot.

Pat Ninety-Eight For O'Brien

Phil Ivey opened with a raise to 300 and Dan O'Brien popped it up to 1,000 from the next seat over. It folded to Larry Wright int he small blind who thought for a moment before flat calling and Ivey tagged along too.

Wright and Ivey both took two cards while O'Brien stood pat. After the draw, it was checked around to O'Brien who fired out 2,000. Wright called and Ivey mucked his cards. O'Brien fanned on the felt which prompted Wright to drop his hand in the muck. O'Brien picked up the pot and is now sitting around 37,200 with 20,000 of that in lammers.

Bakes Takes One; Felts Two

We arrived at the table to see the aftermath of a hand where Andy Bloch was all in before the draw against David "Bakes" Baker and Justin Gardenhire. Baker drew one card while Bloch and Gardenhire both stood pat. From what we could gather, post-draw, Baker and Gardenhire also got their chips all in in a side pot.

Baker dropped down the , and followed it with for a ninety-eight. Bloch tabled for a slightly worse ninety-eight and was forced to ship his chips to Baker and tap into his lammers. Gardenshire flashed a ten-low before also mucking and allowing Baker to scoop up the pot. Baker now sits around 50,000.
