Froehlich Wins on Dangerous Board

Nível 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Eric Froehlich raised from late position, and Matt Schreiber called from the big blind. The flop was {7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and Schreiber checked, then called when Froehlich bet. Both players checked the {a-Hearts} on the turn. The river was the {q-Hearts}, putting three hearts and four Broadway cards on board. Schreiber checked, and Froehlich bet. Schreiber though for a few moments before deciding to fold, and Froehlich took the pot.

Moore Forces Fold

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Michael Moore raised from the button, and Terrence Chan defended his big blind. The flop fell {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and Chan check-called Moore's bet. The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and Moore again bet. Chan thought for a minute, but elected to fold, and Moore took the pot.

Moore has surpassed the century mark and sits with 111,000 in chips.

Burke Busto

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

We happened upon the action with approximately 7,000 in the pot and a board reading {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Ron Burke had just bet from the small blind and Michael Moore responded with a raise from the big. Burke made the call, leaving himself just 500 behind, and then committed it when the {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Moore called with the {q-Spades}{2-Spades} for two pair, which bested Burke's {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} pair of queens.

Straight to the Top for Chiu

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Justin Bonomo bet out on the flop with the board reading {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and David Chiu called. Bonomo checked the {q-Hearts} on the turn, then raised when Chiu bet. Chiu then re-raised, and Bonomo called the third bet. The river was the the {2-Spades}, and Bonomo check-called. Chiu tabled {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} for the nut straight, and Bonomo mucked.

David Chiu has very quietly built one of the largest stacks in the room, and now sits with 136,500.

Flush v. Flush with Redraw

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Mike Leah
Mike Leah

Todd Witteles raised preflop, and Mike Leah called from the big blind. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Leah checked, Witteles bet, and Leah called. Then the hand started to get interesting. The turn was the {8-Spades}, and Leah checked again. This time he check-raised when Witteles bet. Witteles asked Leah how much he had behind, which turned out to be 5,100. Witteles then three bet, and Leah four-bet all in for 11,100 total. Witteles called and immediately said, "I have the nuts." Leah responded, "Then I have two outs."

Witteles: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Leah: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Witteles had indeed flopped the nut flush, while Leah had flopped a lower flush with an open-ended straight flush redraw. The dealer then brought the river, the {5-Diamonds}, which was not one of Leah's outs, and he has been eliminated from the tournament.

As a fitting postscript, on the very next hand, Witteles raised preflop and got no callers, and turned over the same {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.
