On their way to heads up, Kevin Vandersmissen and David Yeazell each eliminated a player in the two previous hands.
It started when Vandersmissen thought he was raising to 4,000 from the button but the player from the cutoff had moved all in and he actually called the all in bet.
Vandersmissen:
Cutoff:
The board ran out and the ace on the river gave Vandersmissen a pair of aces and eliminated a player to bring the table down to three.
On the very next hand, David Yeazell called the all in of the player in the small blind after raising from the button.
Yeazell:
Small Blind:
The flop was good to the small blind when it came for two pair. The gave the lead back to Yeazell and he filled up with the river eliminating his opponent and setting up heads up play.

We heard the dealer yell all in and a call at the table in front of us, and saw that Garry Gates was the player who was at risk. The flop read , and Gates held for an inside straight draw and flush draw. However, he was in rough shape, as his opponent held a terrible hand for him: . A heart would be no good for Gates, who was now looking for just a jack or a king. Well the on the turn gave him a leading straight, and now he was the one who was in great shape. However, that changed when the hit the river, giving his opponent broadway.
Gates wished his table mates good luck before heading for the exits.

Earlier we reported how Michael Mizrachi went into heads up play with a 40,000 to 5,000 lead over his opponent Greg Buonocore, to which Buonocore responded "It's David vs. Goliath and you know who won that battle." Well it looks like Buonocore might be a prophet because sure enough he charged back, and has just defeated the Grinder heads up to advance to tomorrow.
