Bleznick Doubles Through Gruissem Twice

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

Jared Bleznick opened to 2,500, Philipp Gruissem three-bet to 8,700 in position, and Bleznick called. The flop fell {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}, Bleznick checked, and Gruissem instantly moved all in for 8,100. Bleznick called.

Bleznick: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Gruissem: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

"Backdoor flush draw," Gruissem chuckled.

The turn and river came {2-Hearts}, {5-Diamonds} respectively, and Bleznick doubled, saying something that sounded like, "I love the king."

About an orbit later, after the level change, Gruissem limped in, two players limped behind including Jonathan Duhamel, and Bleznick potted from the small blind. Gruissem re-potted, and the action folded back to Bleznick who called all-in for 20,900.

Bleznick: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Gruissem: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop have Bleznick a lowly pair of sixes, and Gruissem still held an overpair and a flush draw. The turn was red, but the {a-Diamonds} actually gave Bleznick a leading pair of aces, and when the {2-Diamonds} completed the board, he doubled once again through the German.

Bleznick now sits with 46,000 chips, while Gruissem is down to 20,000 or so.

Sung Snags a Few from Hellmuth

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

With the board showing {J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, Steve Sung checked and Phil Hellmuth bet 6,000. "I'll show this time," said Hellmuth as Sung contemplated what to do, and a beat later Sung made the call.

"Deuce, please," asked Hellmuth of the dealer who then delivered the {6-Clubs} to put a third six on board. Both players checked, and Sung turned over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for sixes full of queens. Hellmuth tabled his hand momentarily, but at the sight of the big full-house-making pair in Sung's hand he soon flipped his hand and sent it to the muck.

Madsen Gets the Rest from Lacay

Nível 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Ludovic Lacay - Eliminated
Ludovic Lacay - Eliminated

Ludovic Lacay and Patrick Ruth checked on a flop of {3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Jeff Madsen tossed out 8,200, and only Lacay called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs}, Lacay moved all in for 28,700, and Madsen tank-called.

Lacay: {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Madsen: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Lacay had straight and flush draws, but the {j-Diamonds} on the river was a brick. The Frenchman quickly stood up from the table and wished the players good luck before bolting out of the tournament area.

Madsen, the 2006 Player of the Year, shipped the pot and now sits with 145,000 chips.

Also joining Lacay on the rail is Chris Bell.

Filled Gutshot Saves Madsen

Nível 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Ludovic Lacay raised from middle position, then Jeff Madsen made it 5,800 to go from the button. The blinds got out, then Lacay four-bet to 20,400 and after some deliberation Madsen called.

"How much behind?" asked Lacay of Madsen, and the latter indicated he had about 35,000. The first three community cards then came {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and Lacay promptly bet 28,000. Madsen paused a beat, then said he was all in and Lacay called.

Madsen had {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades}. Meanwhile Lacay had {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{x-}, his fourth card soon obscured as he gathered his hand together at the sight of the {J-Spades} falling on the turn. Madsen had filled a gutshot straight, and by the time the {2-Clubs} appeared on the river Lacay was already mucking his cards disgustedly.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Duhamel Over Gruissem

Nível 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Jonathan Duhamel
Jonathan Duhamel

Philipp Gruissem opened for 2,700 from the hijack seat and got a single caller in Jonathan Duhamel calling from the big blind. The flop came {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Duhamel check-called a bet of 5,500 from Gruissem. The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and another check from Duhamel. This time Gruissem bet 14,000 and Duhamel called again.

The river was the {Q-Clubs}. Duhamel checked one last time, and following Gruissem's check behind the Canadian tabled {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} for the rivered straight. Gruissem mucked, and Duhamel scooped the pot.

Some for Schneider

Nível 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Jonathan Lane opened for 3,300 from middle position and got a single caller in Tom Schneider on the button. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and when Lane continued for 2,000, Schneider responded with a raise to 8,000. Lane thought a moment then called, then checked after the {K-Diamonds} fell on fourth street.

Schneider took the opening to set out a bet of 11,000, and Lane didn't waste too much time before mucking his cards.
