Ahmed Gets Lucky To More Than Double

With / showing, Owais Ahmed was faced with a decision for his last 250 chips. His opponent was showing / and had bet.

Reluctantly Ahmed threw in a call for the rest of his chips and turned over his , working on a ten-nine-eight low. His opponent showed for an already made ten-seven low.

Six street came an for Ahmed, keeping him drawing live. His opponent picked up a . Seventh street was dealt face down and Ahmed turned up a making him a nine-eight low. His opponent needed to draw a nine or eight to eliminate Ahmed. Unfortunately his seventh street card was paint and Ahmed was able to greatly increase his chip stack.

"Amazing," someone said at the table after the hand.

"What am I gonna do? Fold and leave myself with three antes?" Ahmed said after the hand. Thanks to the lucky string of cards, Ahmed is currently sitting with a lot more than three antes.

Maria Ho completed on third street showing a , Andy Bloch called with an , and the Bill Chen raised with . Ho and Bloch both called. On fourth street, Bill Chen bet out, and both players called.

Then on fifth street, Maria Ho had the low board. She and Bloch both checked, then Chen bet out. Ho tried to check-raise all in for 1,700, but a full raise was only 1,600. So Ho made it two bets, Bloch called, and Chen raised to 2,400. Ho called all in for 1,700 total, and Bloch called the full three bets.

With Ho all in, Chen had the low board on sixth street even though he paired his five, and he check-called Bloch's bet. Bloch bet again on the river, but this time Chen slid his cards to the dealer.

Bloch showed 8-7-6-4-A, just barely enough to beat Ho's 8-7-6-5-A. Ho has been eliminated from the tournament, and Chen is severely short-stacked. Bloch, on the other hand, now sits with 15,500.

Seventh street was dealt face down and Bach bet, which caused the preflop caller to fold.

"I had aces up," the preflop caller told Bach.

The player who was all in mucked his hand angrily, throwing it down on the table as he packed his things and got up. Bach just quietly scooped the pot.
