Hansen Finds a Double

Nível 10

Stud

Gus Hansen{x-}{x-} / {5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts} / {x-}
Adam Friedman{x-}{x-} / {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{x-} / {X-}

We caught up to the action on fifth street to see David "ODB" Baker, Gus Hansen, and Adam Friedman in a hand. As the dealer dealt each players fifth card, Hansen made a pair of jacks.

"Boom!" he said as the jack fell. He led out with a bet and Friedman called while Baker mucked.

"I just have 500 back so I'm just going to put it in now," remarked Hansen who was all in.

"I'll call," replied Friedman. "I have a flush draw."

"Yeah, big flush draw," Hansen said sarcastically with a smile, turning over {J-Spades}{5-Spades} as his down cards for a full house, meaning Friedman was drawing dead on the subsequent streets. Hansen was able to drag the pot and stay alive in the tournament. He's currently sitting on about 18,000 in chips.

Brown Cripples Juanda

Nível 9

Omaha Hi-Lo

Chad Brown raised from early position and it folded around to John Juanda who made it three bets from the small blind. The big blind folded and Brown called.

The dealer fanned a flop of {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Juanda continued out. Brown called and the turn brought the {8-Diamonds} where Juanda shot out another bet. Once again, Brown stayed the course.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Juanda slowed with a check. Brown fired out and Juanda mucked his cards, leaving himself with just 3,000 behind. Brown, on the other hand, is up to about 28,000.

Williams Scoops the Flying Dutchman

Nível 9

Omaha Hi-Lo

Action folded to Marcel Luske, also known as the "Flying Dutchman," in the cutoff and he limped. The button and small blind folded, David Williams checked his option from the big and the flop came down {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Williams bet, Luske called and the dealer burned and turned the {7-Hearts}. Again the action went bet-call, and it repeated itself on the {3-Hearts} river.

Luske: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Williams: {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Williams' straight was good for the high and his six-deuce scooped the pot with the low.

Meanwhile, Nick Schulman and Tom McCormick have both been eliminated from the tournament.

Mizrachi Straightens Out Deeb

Nível 9

Omaha Hi-Lo

Michael Mizrachi raised from under the gun plus one and it folded around to Neal Friets who called out of the small blind. Shaun Deeb tagged along out of the big blind and the three saw a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Friets checked and Debb came out swinging with a bet. Mizrachi raised, Friets folded his hand, and Deeb stuck around.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Deeb checked. Mizrachi shot out another bet and Deeb called. The board paired with the {A-Diamonds} on the river and the action went check-check.

"Straight," said Mizrachi, tabling {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{A-Spades} for Broadway. Deeb mucked his cards and Mizrachi scooped up the pot. Mizrachi now has about 26,000.

The Italian Pirate Raids Williams' Stack

Nível 9

Limit Hold'em

We caught the action on a {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} flop when Max Pescatori, otherwise known as the "Italian Pirate," checked and David Williams bet. Pescatori responded with a check-raise and then called when Williams three bet it. Pescatori then check-called a bet on the {10-Clubs} turn before leading out on the {Q-Diamonds} river. Williams made the call but mucked when Pescatori revealed the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}. He had flopped a flush draw, but it was the running two pair that gave him the win.

Pollak Can't Beat Flush

Nível 9

Stud Hi-Lo

Benjamin Pollak{x-}{x-} / {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} / {x-}
Steve Conigliaro{x-}{x-} / {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} / {x-}

We picked up with the action on fourth street to find Benjamin Pollak and Steve Conigliaro heads up in the hand. Conigliaro checked over to Pollak who fired out a bet. Conigliaro called to see fifth street where he paired up his sevens. He took the lead and fired out a bet and Pollak called.

Conigliaro bet once again on sixth and one last time on seventh. After Pollak called the bet on seventh, Conigliaro fanned {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for an ace-high club flush. Pollak picked up his down-cards, looked at them for a moment, went to muck, looked at them again, and then finally threw them again. Conigliaro dragged in the pot and now has about 21,000 while Pollak has fallen to about 20,000.
