Thomas Clashes with Ramdin

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We're not sure what happened, but a 120,000 pot just went Ramdin's way and Russell Thomas was the one parting with those chips. On the table we saw {2-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades} | {6-Spades} | {8-Spades} and Ramdin's hand was {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Thomas his hand was mucked already and he was counting out chips to give to Ramdin.

Russell Thomas Wins a Flip

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Russell Thomas, fourth in last years Main Event for $2,851,537, just made a three bet from the cutoff. His opponent Terry Oswald had opened to 4,200 but before we could count how much Thomas had made it, Oswald had already announced all in and Thomas had already snap called.

"Ok, how bad is it?" asked Oswald as he turned over {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. Thomas showed {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and added "I'm pretty good at these." And good he was as he spiked a king on the flop: {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. The {2-Hearts} on the turn and the {6-Spades} on the river did him no harm and he could start stacking chips. Thomas made several uneven stacks out of his newly acquired chips so we had a lot of trouble counting. It looked like at least 120,000 but we're not a hundred percent sure.

Stein Making a Charge

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Bracelet winner Sam Stein was hovering around a slight above average stack for most of the day yesterday before making a late surge and ending with 74,500. Well it looks like he has carried that momentum into today, as he is already pushing 100,000, and has emerged as one of our big stacks.

Wasicka Misses his Straight, Loses 100,000 Pot

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Paul Wasicka
Paul Wasicka

As we arrived the flop was already out there: {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. In front of the small blind was 2,900, while the big blind had 9,100 laying out there. Paul Wasicka, who played the hand from middle position, had the All In token in front of him, indicating he had put all of his 126,000 in the middle. The small blind pushed his stack forward and the big blind folded.

Wasicka was looking for a ten or five as he tabled {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the open-ended straight draw. The small blind was the proud owner of a set with {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} and would see his hand hold: {9-Diamonds} on the turn and {K-Clubs} on the river. Wasicka counted 48,700 and pushed them to the small blind.

Zolotow Breaking Even

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Steve Zolotow opened under-the-gun to 3,100 and was met with two all ins behind him. Todd Akiyama in seat seven pushed for just about double Zolotow's raise and Jon Graham pushed a little bit more than that. When the action folded back to Zolotow, he made the call and showed his {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Todd Akiyama tabled {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} while Jon Graham showed his {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

No one would hit this time and thus the best hand preflop, was that postriver as well: {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} | {K-Spades} | {K-Hearts}. Steve "The Bald Eagle" Zolotow broke about even on the hand since Graham's chips covered the loss to Akiyama.

Levy Finds an Early Double Up

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Adam Levy came into today as one of the shortest stacks, so we knew he was going to get it in quickly. Sure enough, we saw him move his last 8,000 in the middle as we walked by, and he was called by the player on the button.

Levy: {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Levy was in need of some help, and the dealer provided that with a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Levy was now well out in front, and he kept his lead through the {q-Clubs} turn and the {q-Diamonds} river.
