Shulman Loses One, Then Splits One

Jeff Shulman has been very active at his table, but his chip stack is remaining relatively constant. We recently watched him play two hands.
On the first, we arrived at the table on sixth street with Shulman showing

, the original bettor led out again, but this time Shulman raised, showing . His opponent called, then checked his river card. Shulman bet out, but his opponent raised. Shulman called and the players showed their cards:
