Grant Curnow Eliminated in 26th Place ($13,260)

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Grant Curnow
Grant Curnow

Just before the break Grant Curnow got into a confrontation with Hiren Patel. The two players were all in preflop with Patel holding {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Curnow holding {K-}{Q-}. The board ran out {4-}{7-}{2-}{j-}{A-} granting Patel the elimination and sending Curnow home.

Two Busts And We Redraw

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Our first elimination came at the hands of Chris Hunichen when he called the all in from Christopher Rauscher under the gun. Hunichen had {k-Clubs}{10-Spades} against Rauscher's {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Hunichen is stacking more chips.

The second elimination saw Damien Lhommeau hit the rail when his {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} could not improve against his opponent's {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

As a result of these eliminations, we are redrawing and moving to the other side of the Amazon Room.

Hoffman Doubles To The Realm of Respectability

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Hunter Frey bet out 31,500 chips. Another player in middle position raised to 120,000. Action on Jedidiah Hoffman, he raised all in.

Action folded back to Frey who folded, but the player who reraised Frey went into the tank. He took off his hat, rubbed his head, asked for a count and finally after about a minute of theatrics, made the call.

Hoffman was in good shape as he had flopped a set with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and his opponent would need to catch some running cards with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The {7-Hearts} ended it for Hoffman as his opponent was already drawing dead, but the dealer put out the {5-Spades} on the river anyways.

After that double Hoffman has moved into the realm of respectability and now has one of the largest stacks in the room.

Lam Eliminates Wahba

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Mark Wahba
Mark Wahba

The money was all in preflop between Simon Lam holding {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Mark Wahba with {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The board came {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Wahba was eliminated after leading the field in chips at the start of the day.

No More Micon

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Brian Micon
Brian Micon

Bryan Micon open shoved the last of his chip, roughly 100,000, all in before the flop from middle position. Action folded to Hunter Frey in the small blind who made the call with a covering stack. The big blind folded and the two players showed their hands.

Micon: {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Frey: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

It was a flip for Micon but he would need to catch up to stay alive. The board of {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} did not bring him what he needed, and he was eliminated from the tournament.
