Mateusz Dziewonski Wins the WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Main Event

The third and final day of the World Series of Poker Circuit €1,650 Main Event saw the final 31 players of a 715-entry strong field return to the tables of the King's Casino in Rozvadov.

After more than 14 hours of play, Poland's Mateusz Dziewonski defeated Andrew King in heads-up play to win coveted WSOP Circuit ring and €206,927 first-place prize.

Among those to fall within the first level were Amir Mozaffarian and Roman Cieslik, while the elimination of Oleksandr Zhyrnov set up the last three tables.

Over the next half an hour, four players were sent to the rail in quick succession. Ismail Kalkan lost his fight on the short stack, and the same applied for Steven Stephan. Meanwhile, Quirin was running bad in all bigger pots and then lost a flip for his tournament life.

The bustout of Vasili Firsau was a bad beat story, as the 2015 WSOP bracelet winner and Rozvadov Circuit ring winner lost with ace-king to ace-nine. As for Süleyman Erdar, he started as one of the biggest stacks but lost a massive pot with set under set before bowing out in 19th place.

Michael Magalashvili's attempt to bluff Dziewonski off a full house on a scary board was not met with success, and the Israeli busted shortly after. Next to go was King's regular Ali Sameeian, who called all in with ace-ten only to see Zoltan Gal's ace-eight connect with the flop to reduce the field to its final two tables.

Once again it only took 30 minutes to lose five players and head into the dinner break with 11 hopefuls remaining. At that point, Thomas Erler's ace-seven failed to hold up against the king-queen of Johnny Hansen, and shortly after the hopes of Alexandar Denishev to win the WSOP Circuit were crushed in 10th place when the pocket kings of the Bulgarian were cracked by Dragoslav Timaric.

Aleksei Ivanov experienced the same fate and also had the second-best hand in no-limit hold'em cracked to join the rail in ninth place.

Tonino Schmitz started the final table of eight second in chips, but was the first to get eliminated. After a couple of unlucky spots, the German put his hopes on a flush draw and Jens Steuber called with top pair to hold up.

Dziewonski started the final table last in chips, but doubled up quickly and took over the lead after sending Timarac to the rail in seventh place. 2015 WPT National Vienna champ Zoltan Gal tangled with the lead for several levels before losing a few all-in showdowns. His last all in with ace-five suited found a caller in Hansen with ace-jack suited and the Dane faded a flush draw on the flop to bust Gal.

The German-speaking hopes of a Main Event victory in Rozvadov were destroyed by Dziewonski, who eliminated Stefan Raschbauer and Steuber and in quick succession.

Down to three players, the Pole held half of the chips in play and the final trio played aggressively throughout the short-handed battle. Hansen had to settle for third place when his ace-five suited bricked against Dziewonski's ace-nine off suit.

An expensive top pair versus trips hand restored the 2-1 lead for Dziewonski, and the Pole then called a check-raise all in after the turn with top pair. The board was reading {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and King's {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} were unable to improve against the {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs} of Dziewonski with a blank {4-Hearts} completing the board on the river.

Andrew King Eliminated in 2nd Place (€126,002)

Nível 34 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante
Andrew King
Andrew King

Mateusz Dziewonski raised to 525,000 and Andrew King just flat-called to see the flop {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. King check-called a bet of 875,000 and then checked the {Q-Spades} on the turn. Dziewonski fired a second barrel for what looked like 1,500,000 and King immediately check-raised all in for 5,050,000 on top. Dziewonski tanked for quite some time and then made the call for the tournament victory.

Dziewonski: {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
King: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The {4-Hearts} on the river was a blank and a pair of kings sent King to the rail in 2nd place close to 5 a.m. in the Tuesday morning hours.

Dziewonski Enlarges Lead

Nível 34 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

On the {Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} turn, Mateusz Dziewonski fired 675,000 and Andrew King raised to 1,400,000 with the {K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for top pair. However, he was in desperate shape against the {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} of his opponent. The {8-Spades} fell on the river and Dziewonski value-bet for 1,500,000 to drag the biggest pot of the heads-up duel so far.

King was immediately shocked after what had happened and lost the entire profit he had built up.

Andrew King raised to 500,000 and Mateusz Dziewonski three-bet to 1,300,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. King flat-called with {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and faced the continuation bet worth 1,150,000 by Dziewonski before moving all in. The Irishman was all in for 6,305,000 and eventually enforced a fold to almost even out the stack sizes.

King Grabs Many Small Pots

Nível 34 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

On the river of a {8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Spades} board, Mateusz Dziewonski bets 300,000 with the {10-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Andrew King made the call with the {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks.

Shortly after, the Irishman raised with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} to scoop the big blind and antes and also found two pair on a limped pot with the {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to take down another pot. In less than two dozen hands, King has taken more than 1.2 million off his opponent to slowly but surely close the gap.

Up and Down

Nível 34 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

Most of the early heads up pots went to Andrew King, he only gave up one hand with the {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} after raising to 500,000. Mateusz Dziewonski had three-bet to 1,300,000 with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and King made a good fold.

The Irishman got the chips back one hand later with {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} after flopping two pair on the {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Dziewonski had found nothing with the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

The little swings continued with a board of {J-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}. King had found top pair with the {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and paid off the 500,000 by Dziewonski, who had made two pair on the river {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Some Momentum for King

Nível 34 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

On a {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop saw Mateusz Dziewonski with the {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} while Andrew King had the {10-Spades}{2-Spades} and bet his flush draw to scoop the pot. One hand later he made a straight with the {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} while Dziewonski's {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flush draw didn't come on the board {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Last but not least, King also flopped top pair with {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and took down another pot without showdown.
