Veselin Karakitukov raised from under the gun to 2,500, and on his direct left Isaac Haxton three-bet to 8,700. It folded back to Karakitukov who made the call.

The flop came Q♥K♥2♦ and Karakitukov checked to Haxton who moved all in for 8,400, which Karakitukov called.

Haxton was in front with his aces, but the 9♦ on the turn gave Karakitukov a set. The river was the K♠ to give Karakitukov the pot with his full house, eliminating Haxton.

Action went three-ways to a flop of 5♣A♣2♥ in a hand between George-Bogdan Ana on the button, Eelis Parssinen in the small blind, and Shawn Stroke in the big blind.

Parssinen checked, Stroke bet 1,000, Ana called, and Parssinen bumped it up to 6,200. Stroke called and Ana got out of the way.

The 2♦ turn went check-check, bringing the K♦ river. Parssinen led out with a bet of 4,000 and Stroke raised to 16,000. Parssinen thought for a brief moment before putting in the call.

Stroke tabled A♦Q♦7♥2♣ for a full house, deuces full of aces, to scoop the pot.

The death of musician, recording engineer and poker player Steve Albini hit the music world with a force like that of the incendiary device aimed at Earth pictured on Big Black's 1986 debut album Atomizer. It may have hit one group of Chicago poker players the hardest.

Albini, a two-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner who recorded landmark works by bands like Nirvana and Pixies and who The New York Times described as "one of the most admired, and most divisive, figures in rock," was a key figure in a friend group that bonded, joked and supported one another over the poker table. For 20 years, they played in a weekly low-stakes Chicago home game often held in Electrical Audio that included bracelet winners like Jason Gola, Eric Rodawig and Brian Hastings. Now, the game is on hiatus after Albini's death in May as the group of poker pros, musicians and audio engineers adapts to a world without its figurehead.

PokerNews spoke with two of Albini's closest friends who were regulars in the game, Brandon Shack-Harris and Andrew Kosinski.

Guerra led out for 30,000 on the K♥ river, with Mustafov checking his cards before sliding them into the muck.

"I'll get you one time," said Mustafov as Guerra raked in the chips.

Parssinen's Two Pair Knocks Out Desjarlais

Action folded to Eelis Parssinen in the hijack who raised to 2,100. Then Steve Desjarlais three-bet to 7,200, and once it folded back to Parssinen, he made the call.

The flop came 6♥7♦2♣ and Parssinen bet 9,400 to put Desjarlais all in, which he quickly called.
