Let's Have Ourselves a Break
Two more levels are in the books and that means it's time for another 15-minute break.
Merson Applies the Pressure
Michael Tran raised to 1,300 from early position and Vanessa Rousso called from the cutoff. Greg Merson then three-bet to 5,500 from the small blind, Tran called, and Rousso got out of the way. When the flop came down , Merson continued for 7,500, Tran called, and the both players checked the turn.
The river saw Merson return to betting, and this time his bet of 10,000 did the trick as Tran released his hand.

Dan Heimiller opened for 1,400 from middle position and Andy Lee called from the hijack. Wei Leong then three-bet to 3,700 from the cutoff, Heimiller folded, and Lee called to see the flop. Lee proceeded to check-call a bet of 5,700 and then check-called one of 6,600 on the turn.
When the completed the board on the river, both players checked and Leong showed the for a pair of nines. It was no good though as Lee held the for a flush.

Duhamel Busts Barer
It's pretty much been the Jonathan Duhamel show here on Day 1 of the AU$25,000 High Roller from the 2014 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific. He began the day by ripping off a higher full house against Peco Stojanovski's lower full house, and then he made quad deuces against Jan Suchanek to scoop another nice pot.
Just now, Duhamel sent the reigning Aussie Millions Main Event champion Ami Barer to the rail after he flopped top two pair and his hand held up.
On the flop, Duhamel had Barer all in and at risk. Duhamel had the for queens and tens, while Barer was hoping to hit with the for an open-ended straight draw.
The turn was the , and the river was the , though, and that run out left Barer in the dust as Duhamel climbed to over 200,000 in chips.

Full House Over Full House Again
For the second time today, we just witnessed a hand play out that saw a full house beat another full house. Earlier, it was Jonathan Duhamel besting Peco Stojanovski, and this time it was Vanessa Rousso beating Daniel Neilson.
On the flop, Rousso bet 2,200. Neilson called, and then Greg Merson folded before the two players saw the turn card come out. It was here that Rousso slowed down with a check, and Neilson bet 4,800. Rousso called.
The river was the , and Rousso checked. Neilson thought, then bet 13,500. Rousso quickly called with the for a rivered full house. Neilson showed the for a turned full house, but Rousso's was bigger and she won the pot.

We missed the amounts, but Andy Lee opened with a raise from middle position and then called when Jason Mo three-bet from the small blind, which brought about a flop of . Mo continue for 4,600, Lee raised to 11,000, and Mo quickly released his cards.
It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their cards.
