Rush Hour Over

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

It has been a wild ride for Daniel Murphy, but he just picked the wrong timing to put a short stack at risk. On the {7-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} flop, Brian McAllister got his remaining 22,600 chips in with {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} and Murphy was in bad shape with {4-Clubs} {4-Spades}. The big stack could not improve with the {10-Clubs} turn nor the {9-Spades} river and both opponents are now almost even in chips.

Voppen Doubles Through Kinnane

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Gijs Voppen was all in for 23,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} against the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for James Kinnane. Luck was on Voppen's side, as the {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} board gave him the double to nearly 50,000 in chips. Kinnane slipped back to 44,000.

Brabin Keeps on Stacking

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Toan Nguyen moved all in for what looked like 12,000 from early position and the action folded all the way to Luke Brabin in the big blind. He enjoyed a massage and peeked at his cards, trying to find a hand to call with. As soon as he spotted both cards, he immediately called.

Nguyen: {A-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}
Brabin: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}

A tiny glimpse of hope for Nguyen was the {4-Spades} {9-Spades} {10-Diamonds} flop, but the miracle didn't happen anymore on the {2-Hearts} turn and the {6-Hearts} river.

Danzer Doubles Through Gupta

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Piyush Gupta raised from early position and called the all in of George Danzer for around 10 big blinds with {A-Hearts} {J-Spades}. The German had that beat with {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} and the {3-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} board confirmed the better kicker. Danzer is still well below average but won't give up easily with POY points up for grabs.

Bowen Doesn't Bet Despite Brabin's Wishes

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

From early position, Bernard Beh raised to 2,500. David Bowen called on the button, and Luke Brabin called from the big blind to complete the action.

The three players saw an {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop and checked to see the {7-Clubs} added to the board on fourth street. Brabin led for 4,400, Beh folded, and Bowen called.

Fifth street produced the {4-Clubs}, and Brabin checked. Bowen checked behind.

Brabin showed the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, and Bowen mucked his hand.

"I was waiting for you to bet," commented Brabin as the dealer pushed him the pot.

Danzer Getting Shorter

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We just told you how George Danzer needs to finish in 27th place or better to pass Brandon Shack-Harris and take over the lead for the 2014 World Series of Poker Player of the Year, but things aren't getting any easier for him as he's now down to 13,500 in chips.

After Danzer raised to 2,500 from the button, Dan Heimiller called out of the big blind, and the flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Both players checked, and the turn was the {3-Hearts}. Heimiller bet 3,500, and Danzer called to see the {7-Spades} land on the river. Both players checked.

Heimiller showed the {10-Spades}{4-Spades} for a pair of tens, and Danzer mucked his hand with a shake of his head.

Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari Disappears

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

Antonio Esfandiari was once crippled to 725 in chips on Day 1b, but he ran it back up to finish on around 12,000 and bring that into Day 2. Esfandiari managed to make his way to the money, but his quest for a fourth World Series of Poker gold bracelet has come to an end short of the goal.

Esfandiari was all in for the {A-Spades}{9-Spades} against the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for "Toothpick" Tony Kambouroglou. Esfandiari flopped the lead when it came {9-}{6-}{6-} and held through a {Q-} turn, but a {J-} on the river delivered Kambouroglou with the winning hand.

Colman Getting Short

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

"All in and a call" yelled over from table 28 and Julius Colman had a short stack at risk for 7,500 chips with {A-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. Unfortunately, his kicker was rather weak compared to the {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} of his opponent and the board ran out {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {5-Clubs}.
