The pot stood at around 3,000 with three players looking at a flop of 10♠7♠7♦.
Georgina James, in the big blind, checked. Florencia Gigena, in middle position, bet out 1,400. Caroline Cove, in the cutoff, called, as did James.
The J♥ turn saw the action check to Gigena, who bet again, this time for 4,000. Cove folded and James called.
The 9♦ river saw a repeat of the action, this time Gigena sized down to 3,000. "Small bet," said James as she paid off the wager. Gigena rolled over K♥K♣, winning this pot.

Amy Leonard, in the hijack, checked and then called a bet of 3,700 from Gary Bluston, on the button.

Today sees the continuation of the inaugural Women’s Winter Festival at Hippodrome Casino, sponsored by PokerStars. It is a first-of-its-kind event with an initiative to promote women in poker and inclusivity across the wider poker landscape.
A 4 p.m. start time will introduce the first ever £220 50/50 NLH Freezout; an innovative poker format that invites male and female duos to team up and compete within the same tournament. Although each team member will have their own stack, battling individually for their share of the prize pool, a special last-longer style side bet awaits the best-performing duo.
The last standing duo remaining in the tournament will each receive a PokerStars Silver Pass worth $2,500. In addition, the remainder of the tournament will play out in a vanilla format with approximately 15% of the field reaching the money.
The aim for this one-of-a-kind event is to have a 50/50 split of male and female participants, but no player will be refused entry - those competing solo will not be eligible for the Silver Pass. Players are invited to turn up without a partner and can wait to be matched with a teammate of the opposite gender, ensuring they can remain in contention for the Silver Pass.
Players will be met with a starting stack of 30,000 with Level 1 set at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. This is a freezeout tournament that currently has a soft cap of 162 players (81 duos), with registration open until the end of Level 10. Levels will be 25 minutes long with a break every four levels, and will play out until a winner is crowned.
As always, be sure to keep it locked in with PokerNews to keep up with all the action from this exciting Women’s Winter Festival.
