No Showdown Required for Montes Ferreiro

Nível 9 : 400/800, 800 ante

On the tail end of a battle between two Spanish players, the completed board showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Miguel Montes Ferreiro had checked and then reluctantly called a bet worth 7,000 by Francisco Cabrera Mateo.

The latter mucked his cards and Montes Ferreiro earned the pot without any need to reveal his cards.

While awaiting the Triton High Roller Series, Nacho Barbero accompanied Mustapha Kanit to the Spanish capital and has jumped back into the €500 Main Event after his departure on Day 1b.

He was just involved in a battle of the blinds in which a pot of 13,000 emerged to the {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades} turn. Barbero checked behind and did so again on the {6-Spades} river. The small blind tabled the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a pair of treys and that won the pot.

Winamax ambassador Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes has also been spotted on his way in as well.

Therme Off to a Decent Start

Nível 9 : 400/800, 800 ante

Jonathan Therme defended the big blind and check-called a bet worth 4,500 on the {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, then check-called the {7-Clubs} turn for another 13,500. He also checked the {3-Hearts} on the river and his opponent moved all-in for around 60,000.

Therme made the call with {4-Spades}{3-Spades} and was shown pocket jacks according to the Frenchman.

Break and Chip Race in the Main Event

Nível 8 : 300/700, 700 ante

Upon completion of level eight, the remaining 673 players out of 786 entries have been sent into a 30-minute break. The green T-25 chips will be raced off during that period and the players also have some spare time to take a sneak peak of the Masterclass provided by the Team Winamax Pros Adrian Mateos and Alejandro Romero.

Diaz Gets Called Down by Lozano

Nível 8 : 300/700, 700 ante

Jaime Lozano went off to a decent start after knocking out Elie Sztarkman and then won a pot off Guillaume Diaz in which the Winamax Pro raised and Lozano defended to see the {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop.

Lozano check-called for 1,600 and the {3-Spades} turn was checked. After the {10-Hearts} river, Lozano checked once more and Diaz overbet for 10,000. Some table chatter between both broke out with Diaz taking the charge and put his opponent on ace jack or ace queen. "With ace-ten you would have already called," the Frenchman said.

Lozano called and Diaz tabled the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, which was beaten by the Spaniard's {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Cardenia Skyrockets To Massive Stack

Nível 8 : 300/700, 700 ante
Gino Cardenia
Gino Cardenia

In the corner section of the main tournament room, a massive pot was brewing as some 68,000 were in the middle to the {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} river. Guillaume Giraudeau pushed all-in for what appeared to be 75,000 and he was snap-called by the only player who covered him, which was Gino Cardenia.

Giraudeau tabled the {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for an underpair and Cardenia dragged in the huge pot with {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the straight.

Short Stack Double for Meylheuc

Nível 8 : 300/700, 700 ante

The cards of his opponent were already in the muck while another French player on the table bemoaned he would have called if it had been heads-up action.

But it was Didier Meylheuc who came out on top to get back above half the starting stack. He had flopped the top pair with {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and that came out as the winner on a board of {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

Would have, could have, should have is one of the most popular games in the live poker scene but all that matters is which hands to go showdown after all.
