Good Times at Vila Marina

Poker can sometimes be a serious business with big money on the line for those lucky enough to make deep runs in these tournaments, but the atmosphere today at Villa Marina is very relaxed and friendly with plenty of table banter and joshing. One player leaned over from another table to ask Jacob Hicklin how it was going. Hicklin chuckled and replied, “Badly.”

“He’s reduced to open shoving.” Chris Straghalis joined in as he dragged another pot. Hicklin though had just over his starting stack in front of him so he wasn’t doing too badly. Who could resist being in a good mood with the sun shining outside in the Isle of Man, sitting in a beautiful venue playing the greatest game in the world.
