Big Slick Gives Hedley the Double

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Andrew Hedley moved all in for 17,400 from early position and the Ben Warrington moved all in over the top from the hijack. The rest of the players folded and Warrington discovered the bad news.

Warrington: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Hedley: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Both players held an ace but Hedley's king kicker had him well out in front. The board ran out an uninspiring {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Hedley doubled through Warrington.

Meanwhile, it appears the 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event fifth-place finisher, Andy Black, has been eliminated from the tournament.

On The Boyle

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
UKIPT Galway
UKIPT Galway

Garrett Boyle might be the luckiest man in Galway at the moment. There was a three-way all in preflop with Boyle covering both Phillip Ryan and Eoin Olin.

Boyle: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Ryan: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Olin: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Spades}{A-Spades} and Boyle backdoored into the nut flush to knock out both the other players and win a pot to put himself on 95,000.

Nível 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Dara O'Kearney
Dara O'Kearney

We spent an orbit watching Dara O’Kearney, recent winner of the Super Tuesday on PokerStars, to see how he’s getting on at the Galway UKIPT Main event. We’re playing ten handed and here’s how it went.

Hand #1 (Big Blind) O’Kearney gets a walk.

Hand #2 (Small Blind) The button raises and O’Kearney folds.

Hand #3 (Button) O’Kearney bets 1,600, Katja Sophie Spillum Svendsen in the small blind raises to 4,000. The big blind folds and O’Kearney calls.

The flop is {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. O’Kearney gives her the hard stare. Svendsen bets 5,000 and O’Kearney calls.

The turn is {5-Clubs}. Both players check. The river is the {8-Spades}. Both players check again. Svendsen waits for O’Kearney to show his {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} before mucking her cards. O’Kearney claims the pot.

Hand#4 (Cut-off) Under the gun limps, O’Kearney folds.

Hand #5 (Hi-Jack) Folds to a raise.

Hand#6 (Lo-Jack) O’Kearney opens for 1,600. Athir Kamal Ali in the small blind calls, and the big blind folds. The flop is {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Kamal Ali bets 1,125 and O’Kearney calls. The turn card is {9-Clubs}. Kamal Ali bets 4,000, O’Kearney folds.

Hand#7, Hand#8, Hand#9 Three folds in a row for O’Kearney

Hand#9 (Under the Gun) O’Kearney opens for 1,600. It folds around to Rene Bauer, a young Austrian player who announces all in. “How much?” O’Kearney casually asks. It’s 10,900. O’Kearney goes in the tank. When he’s made his calculations he announces a call.

Bauer shows {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} O’Kearney has {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

The board runs out {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} Dara O’Kearney turned a straight to bust Bauer who staggers away from the table, the wind knocked out of him.

As O’Kearney gathers in the chips another player comments, “You just shattered his dreams.” A slight smile plays across the lips of the Irish professional.

Slater Scores Double Elimination to Vault to 100K

Nível 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

David Caffrey moved all in from early position for 9,325 and received a call from Tim Slater, who was sitting on a big stack in the hijack. When action reached Felipe Feliciano in the small blind, he moved all in for 23,525 and Slater snap-called.

Slater: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Feliciano: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Caffrey: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

"Hold," Slater requested. According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, he had a 54.43% chance of doing just that while his opponents had a combined chance of 45.33%. The {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} flop increased Slater to 77.52%, but then the {10-Clubs} spiked on the turn. That left Caffrey drawing to eight for a straight while Slater could only win with a king on the river, which would happen just 4.76% of the time.

Slater was disgusted and began to moan about the bad beat, but then the dealer burned and put out the {K-Diamonds}. The table, except for Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, reacted in disbelief as Slater rivered a bigger set to take down the pot and score the double elimination.
