Bottom Pair, Top Kicker for Taddei

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Facing an under-the-gun raise to 450 and call from the cut-off, Ireland’s Sandro Taddei elected to call from the button. The small blind folded, but the big blind called to create a four way pot.

A flop of {6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} arrived and no one fancied a stab at it as it was checked around.

When a {5-Spades} appeared on the turn the original raiser could wait no longer and fired out a bet of 1,200. Eyes hidden behind dark glasses, the shaven headed Taddei was the only caller.

The river brought the {6-Hearts} and discretion was definitely the better part of valour for the aggressor as he checked it to the implacable Irishman.

Taddei knew he had the winning hand and wasted no time turning over the {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, gallantly allowing his opponent to nod his head and muck his cards unseen.

Lucky Seven for Sion; Tighe Gone

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

We happened upon the action with approximately 13,000 in the pot and a board reading {3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. The UK's Elior Benjamin Sion was first to act and promptly bet 11,000, which prompted his fellow countryman Alex Christoper Lindop to shove all in from the button. Sion shrugged before calling off his what little he had behind and the cards were tabled.

Lindrop: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Sion: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Sion had turned a pair of sevens, but it was well behind the pocket cowboys of Lindrop. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {7-Clubs}! Sion hit trips to extend his tournament life while Lindrop could only shake his head in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Daniel Tighe has been eliminated in unknown action over at Table 8.

Information is Power

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

With three players to a flop of {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts} Paul Fevers led for 1,000, was called in one spot but faced a 3-bet to 3,200 from Alex Lindop. Fevers thought for a while before calling and seeing the other player fold.

The dealer burned and turned the {5-Clubs}.

Lindop bet a chunky 6,200 into a pot of just over 7,000. Fevers went into the tank and started working out the puzzle. A couple of minutes ticked by before he finally released his hand.

A raised eyebrow from across the table prompted Fevers to comment, “I folded two pair.”

“Ace five?” Asked Jack Salter, eager to soak up any free information, but answer came there none as Lindop stacked his freshly won chips with some well-timed aggression.

A Bad Case of the Fevers for Bernabeu

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Guilabert Bernabeu looks to be the first player out of the eight-handed High Roller event. He saw his 1,200 bet on a {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} board check-raised to 2,800 by Paul Fevers. Bernabeu called to see the {Q-Clubs} turn and Fevers bet 3,475 which the Spaniard quickly called again.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Fevers moved all in, only to be instantly called by Bernabeu.

Fevers: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Farrell Can't Stand the Heat

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Three players put in 1,300 preflop and took a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Jan Przysucha was first to act and wasted little time in betting 2,200 from the small blind, which prompted Niall Farrell to raise to 5,125 from the under-the-gun position. Kevin Williams quickly folded the button and Przysucha thought for about 45 seconds before tossing in a three-bet to 12,000. No sooner did the chips hit the felt than did Farrell fold.

Here's a look at the current lineup at Table 9:

A new face has just entered the tournament, and it's a familiar one in Jake Cody.

For those unfamiliar with Cody, let us tell you a little about this poker phenom. Born in 1988 in Manchester, England, Cody started grinding online at a relatively young age at the same time improving his skills and game knowledge by reading books, discussing hands in poker forums and analyzing his own game. His first live tournament cash was at the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour's £200 No-Limit Hold'em event in April, 2009. Cody placed sixth in that tournament taking home £1,740 in prize money.

Cody is also one of the very few players in the world to obtain poker's “Triple Crown”, which are three major poker titles in a World Series of Poker bracelet, gracing the World Poker Tour Champions' Cup and an European Poker Tour title. Aside from his “Triple Crown” Cody also has the UK & Ireland Poker Tour's High Roller title, which he won in Nottingham in 2011. Cody took down the £1,500 No-Limit Hold'em / High Roller event for £34,200. That same year Cody final tabled two more local poker events. He came in second at the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final's £2,500 Main Event in London collecting £115,054, and then just a few days later finished third in the £1,000 No-Limit Hold'em / Re-Entry event at the Monte Carlo, Nottingham for £31,293.

Cody is without a doubt the most accomplished player in the field thus far, and only time will tell if he's able to add a FTP UKIPT Galway cash to his already impressive résumé.

No Blain, No Gain

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

A setback for Full Tilt Ambassador Dermot Blain. He'd fired 625 on a {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop only for Ian Cordts to check-raise to 2,000. Blain made the call to see the {8-Clubs} on the turn and Cordts now checked again.

Blain seized the opportunity and fired a bet of 2,700 but Cordts came back with another check-raise, this time to 7,000 with a similar amount left behind. Blain looked galled and ended up folding his hand rather than risking any more chips.
