An early contender for hand of the day, or the series, just played out over on Table #42.
There were around 6,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 6♣J♦4♠ when Charles Whitehouse fired out 2,500 and Christopher Brammer made it 8,500 to go. Ross Greig then shipped his stack of around 28,000, and Whitehouse called off his 20,000-chip stack. Brammer didn't like seeing the action in front of him, but eventually put in his stack to create a three-way all-in situation.

Greig's pocket kings were third-best as both Brammer and Whitehouse had flopped sets. Brammer was drawing to just one out, while Greig needed to find one of the two remaining Cowboys in the deck to lasso the pot his way.
In poker, you have to expect the unexpected, and the unexpected certainly delivered here as the turn brought the 4♦, delivering the improbable one-outer for Brammer and vaulting him into the lead with quads. Whitehouse, now with just one out of his own for quads-over-quads, couldn’t find the miracle as the river fell 8♣, sending him to the rail.
Greig was left with just 200 chips, which disappeared a few hands later, while Brammer scooped a monster pot of roughly 80,000 to position himself as an early force in the tournament. This incredible hand not only rocked the table but will likely be one for the highlight reel!
