Day 3 Starts at Noon.

Duncan McLellan
Duncan McLellan

Duncan McLellan leads the way going into Day 3 of the UKIPT Isle of Man with an impressive stack of 870,000. He has almost twice as many chips as his second place rival, PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo, who returns with 573,000. McLellan’s a bit of a mystery man so it will be fascinating to see how he matches up against some of the young guns and professionals as the final 30 players battle it out for the chance to make the final table.

The legendary Barry Greenstein is another contender with a stack of 211,000, Sam Razavi (197,000) is still in with a chance, as if Full Tilt Poker Tour Ambassador Ben Jenkins (105,000).

The Rational Group, parent company of PokerStars, is being represented by two members of staff on day 3, Chris Straghalis (293,000) and Christopher Jonat (242,000). Jonat had a scare when he was all-in on the bubble but his aces held against Tim Michels’ queens to propel him through to today.

Day 2 started with 161 entrants who were whittled down to 30 at the end of eight levels of play. Today we will be playing down to a final table of 8. All of the players are guaranteed at least £3,345 but that’s not what any of these players want. They want the first prize of £94,090 and the chance to be crowned the first ever UKIPT Isle of Man Champion.

Cards are in the air at noon so stay tuned to PokerNews for all the breaking stories and player interviews, as well as following the livestream at Pokerstars.tv, to see if McLellan can hold onto his lead and seize his first major title or if someone will break out from the chasing pack.
