Yong and Tsang Thriving

Wai Kin Yong and Elton Tsang are the current chip leaders with just over two times the starting stack, while Winfred Yu and Peter Chan are among the shorter stacks.
Yu raised from early position to get called by Tsang in the big blina dn the flop fell 
. Tsang check-called a bet worth 8,000 before checking the 
turn again. Yu bet 25,000 and Tsang asked to see his remaining stack, before option to check-raise small to 55,000. Yu folded and dropped to around 27 big blinds.
Chan had a similar decision to make in a hand with 6-Max champion Daniel Colman. Plenty of chips were already in a turn of 
and Colman checked in the big blind. Chan bet 16,000 from the cutoff and Colman's check-raise to 40,000 won the pot uncontested.

Wang and Seidel Join the Competition

Qiang Wang and Erik Seidel are the latest two additions to the field. Seidel took the empty seat that formerly belonged to Si Xin Qin and Wang sat down next to Dario Sammartino.
In the first hand, Wang limped in and Richard Yong raised to 12,000. In the cutoff, Paul Phua reraised to 34,000 and claimed the pot without further resistance.
One hand later, Sammartino made it 6,100 to go from under the gun and Wang called. On the 
flop, Wang and Sammartino checked. Both did so again on the 
turn and river. Wang announced a king and showed 
, while Sammartino won the pot with 
.
The hand after, the action folded to Wang in the small blind and he opted for a raise to 6,200. Sammartino clicked to 20,000 and won the pot. Wang kept smiling and joking in Chinese with Yong and the rest of the table though, so his spirit hasn't taken a hit after this welcome to the table.

Qin Busts to Kanit

Soon after giving up a pot against Bryn Kenney, Si Xin Qin was spotted leaving the tournament area with some loud table talk to Richard Yong in Chinese.
In the first hand, Qin defended his big blind to a raise of Bryn Kenney in the cutoff and checked the flop of 
. Kenney continued for 8,000 and Qin called. The 
on the turn saw another check by Qin and a second barrel for 19,000 by Kanit, which did the trick.
Mustapha Kanit then sent Qin to the rail in the next hand and explained what happened. Kanit raised to 5,500 from under the gun and Qin three-bet to 15,000 in the small blind, Kanit called. The flop fell 
and Qin's c-bet of 15,000 was called before the 
turn saw a shove by Qin with pocket nines and a call by Kanit with pocket kings.
The river was no nine and that was it for Qin, at least for now. He may opt to buy in again until the end of Day 1 or before the start of Day 2 at 1 p.m. on Monday though.

Aido Takes from Sammartino; Kuznetsov from Yong

Back from the break, Dario Sammartino boosted his stack while table neighbor Yu Liang was reduced to all but 25 big blinds.
Just now, Sammartino dropped some chips over to Sergio Aido though when defending the small blind to a raise worth 6,000 by the Spaniard. On the flop, Sammartino check-called a bet worth 5,500 and the duo checked the 
turn. Sammartino also checked the river and eventually called the over-bet by Aido for 36,000.
Aido rolled over 
for trips sevens and claimed the pot.
One hand later, Timofey Kuznetsov got value out of

Tang Joins and Gives Chips to Yong

Devan Tang joined just before the break and just got into a big pot with defending Triton Main Event champion Wai Kin Yong. Yong opened to 5,500 on the cutoff and Jack Salter called in the small blind, as did Tang in the big blind.
On a flop of 
, both players in the blinds checked and Yong continued for 8,500. Salter folded and Tang check-raised to 25,100, which Yong called. Tang then fired the turn for 56,100 and Yong eventually called before the river let both players slow down. Tang reluctantly rolled over 
for a busted straight and flush draw, while Yong won the pot with 
for a pair of fives and flush draw that never arrived.
