The action folded to "Avrora-sp" in the small blind and they made a raise to 35,600. Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas sat in the big blind and called the raise.
The pair checked the 3♠K♣J♦ flop before "Avrora-sp" made a bet of 45,000 on the 10♦ turn. Colillas called and the 2♦ river appeared.
"Avrora-sp" now made an overbet of 210,000. Colillas took some time before he eventually came up with the call. "Avrora-sp" could only show a bluff with A♣4♦, while Colillas made a courageous call with his top pair, holding K♥9♦.
Colillas now joins the rank of players with more than one million chips in their stack.
"BlindGuy789" raised to 16,000 from under the gun and Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis defended his big blind. On the 2♦J♠10♥ flop, "BlindGuy789" continued for another 13,200 and Veldhuis check-called.
The 9♦ turn came about and Veldhuis checked again. This time, "BlindGuy789" bet 21,120 and Veldhuis responded by putting his opponent all-in for 122,499 total. "BlindGuy789" made the call and Veldhuis was looking to score a knock-out.
A fortunate turn for Veldhuis, who made two pair. He faded the straight and other outs of his opponent on the 6♥ river and scored another pot. He has already tripled his stack since the start of play as he is looking to make another deep run this SCOOP.
Lasse "Wistern" Jagd Lauritsen raised to 14,000 from under the gun and "Sacrisfoll94" defended their big blind. The flop came 8♦K♦7♠ and Jagd Lauritsen fired a bet of 11,286 before "Sacrisfoll94" put in the check-raise to 51,000. Jagd Lauritsen made the call and did the same for "Sacrisfoll94"s 72,000 bet on the 4♥ turn.
The 9♣ river completed the board and "Sacrisfoll94" put Jagd Lauritsen all-in for 137,983, about half the size of the pot. Jagd Lauritsen made his final call of the hand and, as it turned out, of the tournament.
"Sacrisfoll94" showed 8♠8♥ for a flopped set, outclassing the A♦K♣ for top-top of Jagd Lauritsen. Jagd Lauritsen was eliminated and joined the dozens of player that have exited the tournament since the start of play.
Fintan "easywithaces" Hand had rebought at the start of the day and was sitting in the big blind with a stack of 78,781 chips. The action folded around to "__P0o_P0o__" in the small bind, and they jammed all in, covering Hand's stack. Hand made the call and was at risk of an early night.
Hand was ahead preflop, but "__P0o_P0o__" flopped top pair on Q♦10♠3♥. The turn 4♦ and river 8♣ did not bring a king for hand, and he was one of the many eliminations in the first minutes of play.
On another table, Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot also saw his main event dreams come to an end.
Welcome to Day 2 of the 2023 $1,050 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Main Event . The action is set to kick off at 12:35 p.m. Eastern Time and the field will play well into the money, with the plan being to leave only 80 competitors with chips at the end of the day.
On Day 1, 3,845 entries were made by 2,664 unique players. Out of them, only 1,278 found a way to Day 2. Canada’s ”Zabiggesmaj” bagged the chip lead with a whopping 1,469,772 chips, equating to almost 15 starting stacks and 250 big blinds. When play ended on Day 1, the $4,000,000 guaranteed prize pool had not been reached yet. However, with late registration being open until the start of today, that is very likely to change. At the time of writing the clock reads 3,981 entries, with a top prize of over $570,000.
