Paradero, Fredericks, and Saven Lead Day 1a of the RGPS Reno Main Event

Nível 15 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

A total of 92 entrants filled the poker room today in Day 1a of the RGPS $600 Main Event at The Atlantis Casino and Resort in Reno, Nevada. Each one of them came in with ambitions of putting chips into a bag and taking home a piece of the $150,000 prize pool, but as the flight came to a close only 12 remained with a pathway forward.

Leading the way of the final 12 is Greg Paradero, who ended their day with 505,000. Though a regular around the area, Paradero’s cash in this tournament will be his biggest lifetime cash according to Hendon Mob. Paradero found himself in a three way all in confrontation with pocket nines against kings and queens. A flopped full house propelled him to the chip lead and he retained it for the remaining hours of the flight. With this massive stack, he looks to do some damage during the next day of the tournament.

Rounding out the top three chip counts are Andrew Fredericks (387,000) and Adam Saven (309,000). Last Spring, both of them made the final table and Saven ended his run in ninth place while Fredericks ended up chopping for the title. Each one of them will be looking to use their wealths of experience on the table to better their finishes and carve their names a little bit deeper into RunGood history.

Not everyone found the cards falling in their favor as players like Jeff Day, Lian Liu, and WSOP bracelet winner Ian Steinman. Those hunting the NAPT golden player of the series points also did not find any success as Janet Moore, Joey Gargiulo, Matthew Betti, and Jordan Cushman all fell throughout the day. The points race has been hotly competitive this whole week, and the main event will be awarding more points than any of the other tournaments this series.

Play ended with 3:51 left in Level 15 with blinds at 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante. This will be the time and place that the players will return to on Sunday October 13th at 12:00 pm unless another flight ends earlier than this. Those who were unable to find a bag in this flight will have ample opportunity to bag one of the following flights both today and tomorrow.

Reporting will now go on a break between flights, so be sure to check back in later with Pokernews to find updates on the second flight of the day.
