The PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) 2021 is in full swing and high-stakes regulars will be vying to add another title to their resume. Up next is Event 22-H: $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, High Roller], which features a price tag of $5,200 and a guaranteed prize pool of $750,000. It is the joint second-most expensive tournament of the schedule thus far and will certainly attract some of the biggest names in the world of poker.
All players start with 250,000 in chips and the levels are slated to last 20 minutes each during the entire duration of the event. Up to two re-entries can be purchased during the registration period, which is open for the first five hours and five minutes. Day 1 will conclude when the money bubble has been burst and the survivors then get one day off before determining a winner on Saturday, August 28.
The tournament features the popular progressive knockout format and $2,500 each will go towards the bounty and cash prize pool. For each casualty, a bounty prize of at least $1,250 will be awarded to the bankroll straight away. The other half of the bounty portion will go on the winner's head, which will make for some significant bounty targets during the late stages of the tournament.
Among the WCOOP 2021 high-stakes winners thus far were big names such as Pedro "pvigar" Garagnani , Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, Peter "twirlpro" Turmezy, Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov, Naoya "nkeyno" Kihara, Pedro "PaDiLhA SP" Padilha, and Claas "ssicK_OnE" Segebrecht. Many of them are expected to be back in action tonight in order to take another shot at a WCOOP title and the precious trophy that comes along with it.
Day 1 is slated to commence at 1.05 pm EST and the PokerNews team will provide conclusive updates from start to finish.
