Javier Swett just walked in to the Ballroom here at Enjoy Casino, and received at least a handful of high-fives and hugs on the way to his table. He is clearly a well-known player in these parts, hailing from right here in Vina del Mar, Chile.
Swett fired the High Roller event a few days ago, and also took a shot on Day 1a yesterday. It is expected that Swett will be fighting hard to get that elusive first tournament win under his belt.
Swett seems to be a successful online player, with cashes totaling just over $1,665,000. The majority of those earnings coming from PokerStars, where he goes by the online name 'Ofbravetight'.

Chile's Fabian Chauriye has entered the field and looks to best his runner-up finish in the Latin America Poker Tour Main Event last March, where he earned $110,000 for his largest career cash.
Chauriye seems to do progressively better each year, as he made the final table in the very same tournament the year before in 2015, finishing in sixth place for $39,620.
He seemed to have had a successful year in 2016, as he also went deep in the PCA Main Event, finishing in 16th place for a payout of $36,860.

The field has been made up of mostly South Americans, but Canada's Leor Wasserman decided to shake things up and travel from North America to play some poker!
Canada is known to be cold, and while it is summer up north, it is currently winter here. Hopefully for Chile's sake, Wasserman hasn't brought any snow with him.
Here is a look at some of the players who have jumped in early on Day 1b:
